- Jankidas was born in 1910. He was an actor and producer, known for Mayurpankh (1954), Teesra Kaun (1965) and Yadon Ki Kasam (1985). He died on June 8, 2003 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

- He once suggested that batsmen be paid according to the runs they score. This was taken to the then Indian Captain Sunil Gavaskar. He heard the journalist and then said, "Janki eh, Never heard about her." Jankidas, it is said, blew a fuse.
- Jankidas was the only Indian member at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. He later formed the Cycling Federation of India.
