- Patricia Joyce is an American born actress. She has performed and written for film and television and radio.
She was in the first class of undergraduate women at Yale. During her senior year at Yale, Elia Kazan cast her in the lead role in his film The Visitors. The film opened the Cannes film festival in 1972. Patricia went on to major roles in two other other films, The Catamount Killing and Have A Nice Weekend.
On television she has done numerous guest starring roles including playing Freddie Prinze's girlfriend on Chico and the Man. Other favorite roles were Dr. Laura on Quincy MD and Bunnie Showalter on Happy Days.
As a radio actress she has had many rolls on the Sears and Mutual Radio Theaters. Patricia also wrote 12 original radio plays for those shows.
As a writer, Patricia Joyce has 75 produced hours of film, television and radio. She wrote the cult classic feature film, Lovely But Deadly. She also wrote two produced miniseries for romance theater, Escape to Love and Island of Secret Passion. On prime time, she wrote an episode for the series Shannon. She was on staff for Days of our Lives in 1980 and 1986. And of course the above mentioned radio plays.
Writing as Katherine Swinford, Patricia has a published novel, Primitive Splendor.
