- Karyn Kay was born on August 31, 1948 in the USA. She was a writer and actress, known for Call Me (1988), Empty Suitcases (1980) and America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back (1988). She died on April 10, 2012 in New York, New York, USA.
- At 9:30 a.m. on 10 April, 2012 she was assaulted by her 19-year-old son Henry Wachtel as he came out of a Grand Mal seizure. She sustained several serious injuries and succumbed to those injuries at 1:52 p.m. Her son Henry was arraigned and charged with second degree murder. As part of a plea deal with prosecutors, he was allowed to plead not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect and will be confined to a state facility for treatment of his epilepsy and mental disorder.
