Thora Birch has been performing in Hollywood since she was just a tiny tyke, famously playing Dani Dennison in the cult Halloween classic "Hocus Pocus," where she becomes the target of the malevolent Sanderson sisters. But although one of her most memorable roles came in 1993, when she was just 11 years old, that was far from the end of her career as an actress. Birch has continued to work in the industry, lending her talents to television series, films, music videos, and even podcasts over the years.
Birch's career has been defined by a few standout performances in films that captured the imaginations of audiences everywhere, but one of the most inspiring aspects of her time in Hollywood is that whenever she has been in danger of being completely subsumed by these larger-than-life roles, she shifts gears, navigating a career as a performer on her own terms. If you haven't given...

It was a night of record-making firsts and honoring legends from Hollywood’s Golden Era. John Forsythe and Marlo Thomas hosted the 34th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC on September 19, 1982 — before cable TV and streaming services took over and network TV still ruled the small screen. Read on for our Emmys flashback 40 years ago to 1982.
One of the most celebrated dramas of all time set new records and dominated the acting categories. “Hill Street Blues” received 16 major nominations, breaking the two-decade record of 14 for “Playhouse 90” in 1959. It’s also the first series to receive nine acting noms in one ceremony. It would end the evening tied with “Fame” for the most wins with four, including Best Drama Series, a writing win (it received four out of the five bids in that category) and two acting trophies.

London, Feb 11: Stress and tiredness caused by recession, combined with boring Sos (Same Old Sex), has put a dampener on everyone's love lives, a new study has revealed.
According to the research, more than a quarter of people surveyed said they were making love less than they were a year ago, with women citing tiredness and men blaming their lack of libido on money worries.
Researchers Linda Kelsey said that for many people working longer hours and juggling jobs and childcare, sex was no longer a priority.
"Once the hormonal fireworks of initial attraction have quietened down in a relationship, the warm-up and cool-down of sex become even more important, but these are the things that fall by the wayside when all.

In March 1977, the very successful Mary Tyler Moore Show sitcom said farewell after seven seasons. The cast and crew wanted to leave while they were still on top. In the final episode, Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore), Murray Slaughter (Gavin MacLeod), and Lou Grant (Ed Asner) were fired from their Wjm newsroom positions while inept anchorman Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) kept his job.
In the fall, Lou Grant moved to his own spin-off show and took a job as the city editor for the fictional Los Angeles Tribune. Some tuned in expecting to find another comedy. Instead, they found that Lou Grant was a drama series that didn't shy away from provocative subjects like nuclear waste, mental illness, prostitution, and gay rights.
In addition to the gruff title character, the series follows the work of general-assignment reporters Joe Rossi (Robert Walden) and Billie Newman (Linda Kelsey), photographer Dennis "Animal" Price...
