- Was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award: in 1969, for music of Best Musical nominee "Hair," and in 1972 as Composer of Best Score, with lyricist John Guare, for "Two Gentlemen of Verona."
- Member of the producing group with Donald MacSween, Timothy Porteous and with James de B. Domville as music composer and production manager of the 1957 McGill university revue 'My Fur Lady' directed by Brian Macdonald. It played for 402 times including at the Stratford festival.
