So I just got back from Awesome Con DC 2015, and happily, it lived up to its name once again, because it was pretty darned awesome!
It was also kind of interesting to realize that every year I’ve gone has been a different experience, thanks to what I was doing each year. The first year, which was of course also smaller than the current con, I was reporting for ComicMix but did not have any other responsibilities. That meant I had time to see pretty much all of the floor and meet any guests I’d like, plus doing great, longer-form interviews with the talented Phil Lamarr and Billy West. Last year, I was running programming, so I saw a whole lot of back hallways, the exhibit hall whooshing by at a fast clip several times as I hurried around, many great volunteers, and a few guests for just long...

Disney is being sued for a whole Lotso things over the use of the "Lots-o'-Huggin'" bear in "Toy Story 3." And it's not because Lotso was a jerk to Woody and his pals.
The creator of "Lots of Hugs" bears is suing Disney for trademark infringement, unfair competition, and more. Diece-Lisa Industries has trademarked "Lots of Hugs" and even has patented its "hugging technology," which it leased for another bear toy affiliated with Jim Henson's "Bear in the Big Blue House" TV program. (What is hugging technology? Someone call a lawyer.)
In turn, Disney's use of Lotso in "Toy Story 3" has created some hassles for Dli when it comes to licensing their own product. One such client, Interactive Group, was concerned about using the "Lots of Hugs" trademark on its bears because Disney is known to protect its intellectual property with a fierceness. Instead of worrying about a Disney lawsuit,...

It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.
Yes, we get it. Times are tough and there's comfort in reflection, but enough is enough.
Below, a final goodbye to the 90s to end the nostalgia once and for all. (We're not kidding. There are 1990 items below.)

If you’re new to The Muppets, you might assume that it’s all one plushy foam dogpile of every popular puppet ever created, with Alf and the Pets.com dog intermingling with Elmo and Kukla. Frankly, this is blasphemy. There are puppets, and there are Muppets, and even amongst The Muppets there’s some separation (you will never see the Bear in the Big Blue House interact with Pepe the Prawn, for example). Don’t worry about your ignorance -- if you like joy and happiness, go see the new movie. Kermit’s in there. Now, as a casual Muppet fan, maybe your ears have perked up with the buzz surrounding the new movie The Muppets. Maybe you can’t wait to see your favorites -- Clifford and Rizzo the Rat -- back on the big screen. Sorry to break it to you...

Interview: Walter the Muppet Talks ‘The Muppets,’ Doing His Own Stunts, and His Hero Kermit the Frog
When penning their very own Muppet movie, The Muppets, writers Jason Segel (who co-stars in the film) and Nicholas Stoller had one essential code to crack – how exactly were they going to break into the fractured Muppet gang to get them back together for one more show? It turns out, it wasn’t how, it was who. The Muppets centers on Walter the Muppet (played by Walter the Muppet), the world’s biggest Muppet fan. Though Walter has taken great joy in the Muppets (particularly Kermit the Frog, his personal hero) as he’s grown up in Smalltown, USA, his favorite characters are treated as a relics by everyone else in town (save his brother, Segel as Gary). When Gary and his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) set out on a trip to Los Angeles, home of Muppet Studios, Walter comes along for the ride and to meet his idolts. What he finds at the Studios is unexpected...

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Jason Segel is about to work with a very furry cast. The How I Met Your Mother actor has just signed on to star in Disney's Muppets movie as the lead human character. The plot has been kept a secret, but reports claim that the story will involve Segel as a man trying to reunite the Muppets. Elements from previous Muppets movies and the TV show will also be incorporated into the script. Segel has also written the Muppets script with buddy Nicholas Stoller. James Bobin will direct the film. In 2004, The Walt Disney Company and The Jim Henson Company entered into an agreement under which Disney would acquire the Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House properties from Henson. Muppets creator Jim Henson died on May 16, 1990. Click here to see all of X17online's stories on Jason Segel. Click here to see...
