Ellyn Long Marshall, a native Harlemite, is the daughter of noted entertainer, the late Avon Long and Gretchen Cotton Long; studied Ballet at Arthur Mitchell's Dance Thtr. of Harlem & Tap with Henry LeTang; earned a B.A. in Theater (Marywood University) and pursued Graduate studies in Theatre (Catholic University and CCNY), Ellyn has taught Dance and Drama in numerous Educational and Community organizations.
Ellyn made her acting debut at the age of 5, in the Broadway production of "The Green Pastures". She has worked as Actor and Director (both on and off Broadway); and as Artistic Director (and performer) in "Nucleus", a touring Theatre Company headed by the late Yolanda King and Attallah Shabazz (daughters of Dr. Marting Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, respectively).,
Subsequently, Ellyn entered the world of Casting, serving as Casting Assistant at the Public Theater, under Joseph Papp. In 1986, Ellyn joined forces with Maria E. Nelson, to form award winning Orpheus group Casting. As such, the dynamic duo has persisted in their commitment to package, cast and produce quality Film, Television and Theater projects featuring multi-cultural themes.
