Vince Melocchi
- Actor
Vince hails from the Western Pennsylvania area. After graduating high school with a "D" average and lacking direction in life, he went to work as a janitor for a couple of years. Realizing he wanted more from life, but not sure what, he wandered into the movie theatre to see Al Pacino and Jeffrey Tambor in "And Justice For All". Watching those guys work, he realized he wanted to act. He quit his job as a janitor, went to a community college for a year, taking remedial classes to get his grades up. It worked. He eventually was able to transfer to Penn State University, where he started to get cast in those character parts that would be his bread and butter over the years.
After Penn State, he was accepted into the Advanced Training Program at the American ConservatoryTheatre in San Francisco studying Shakespeare, Chekov, Odets and Shaw.
Staying on the stage, he got his union card while doing Shakespeare's "A Midsummer's Night Dream" at the Westwood Playhouse when a summer stock production was transferred from San Luis Obispo to Los Angeles. After Midsummer's, he moved to Chicago to pursue stage work. He quickly landed a role in an open ended run of the long running Shear Madness. He stayed with that production for about 8 months, but by then he was ready to try his hand in television and film.
Moving to Los Angeles, he got his first Screen Actors Guild job on L.A Law. Since then, he's been a working actor in stage, film, television, commercials, and animation. He's been blessed to have worked with some of the finest actors and directors a man could ever hope for.
Great moments on set he'll never forget include: eating In n' Out burgers with Johnny Cash while filming " Dr. Quinn". Getting to hang out with Larry David while working on his favorite show, "Seinfeld", but the most ironic moment had to be telling Jeffrey Tambor about his "And Justice For All" story when they shot the film "Article 99" in Kansas City.
