- Because of injuries sustained in an accident during the production of the movie The Farmer (1977), Memmoli had to decline the role of the disturbed passenger in Taxi Driver (1976) that was ultimately played by the film's director Martin Scorsese. It was reported that the accident injury played a part in his death.
- George was a bartender and intermission vibraphone player at the Tunetimers Club in Queens, New York City in the early 1960s. The Tunetimers would play in Las Vegas, Nevada as a lounge act for many years.
