James left school in South Africa for England to attend a media course at South Warwickshire College of Further Education in
Stratford Upon Avon. He has been working in the TV & Film Industry since the age of nineteen, starting in post production at the "AV Dept" then part of "VTR" in London.In 1990 he went into the production side for then ITV Yorkshire initially working as a grip before stepping into AD and the locations department. Having left ITV Yorkshire in 1996 he became a freelance location manager working on numerous dramas, commercials & features predominately in the north of England. He is married to a Trish who is a high school teacher with whom he has three boys and lives between Leeds & York. James swam for England in the ACF Championships winning relay team in the 4 x 100. He has played league cricket for a number of years and was part of the team at Barwick in Elmet and Stillingfleet where he opened the batting.
