Born to entrepreneur Alfred Tauszky and his wife, actress Jester Naefe.

Gave birth to her daughter Katharina Eyssen, whose father is writer Remy Eyssen, in 1982.

Has frequently worked with cinematographer Peter Döttling, who is also her longtime companion, since 1994.
