It is always an occasion for celebration when Jon Hamm and Tina Fey are back together on screen — big or small — having shared credits on various 30 Rock and SNL episodes (and the upcoming film version of Fey’s Mean Girls). But their latest collaboration is a clear departure, as well as a rare chance to see Fey out of her comedic zone.

One of George R.R. Martin’s favorite fantasy novels might finally get adapted into a TV series thanks to an unlikely ally — late-night host Stephen Colbert.
Colbert’s production company Spartina has joined Skybound Entertainment and Vincent Newman Entertainment’s existing partnership to develop Roger Zelazny’s beloved The Chronicles of Amber into a drama series.
Martin — who was a close friend of Zelazny, who died in 1995 — has many times noted in interviews stated the novels deserve to be adapted, most recently in October, writing on his blog, “I am a fantasy fan, and I want more fantasy on television… Most of all, I want Roger Zelazny’s Nine Princes in Amber. I will never understand why Corwin and his siblings are not starring in their own show. And hey, if epic fantasy continues to do well, maybe we will finally get that. A boy can dream.”

"He wasn't anything like what people think he was." 1091 Media has unveiled the first official trailer for a documentary titled Making Montgomery Clift, a new feature from doc filmmakers Hillary Demmon and Monty's nephew Robert Clift. This premiered at a few smaller film festivals last year, but is only now getting a good VOD release next month. The doc film is a re-examination of the life of famed American actor Montgomery Clift. The classic, beloved film actor received four Oscar nominations throughout his life. But this doc seems to focus more on his private life, a "tragic story" of a "queer icon", plus other stories that may or not be true. Featuring Montgomery, along with Brooks Clift, Ethel "Sunny" Clift, Patricia Bosworth, Jack Larson, Judy Balaban, Robert Osborne, Eleanor Clift, Lorenzo James, Tucker Tooley, Mollie Gregory, Vincent Newman, Michael Easton, Woody Clift, and Eddie Clift. Looks like a compelling analysis of Monty.

Exclusive: Screen Gems has set Stefan Ruzowitzky to direct Patient Zero, a Mike Le-scripted thriller that puts a new spin on the genre film. In the film, an unprecedented global pandemic has resulted in the evolution of a new species. An aggressive form of rabies turns the infected into predators, addicted to violence. An inexplicably gifted human survivor with the ability to speak their new language spearheads a hunt for Patient Zero in order to find a cure to save his infected wife and humanity. Vincent Newman is producing. Production will begin in the summer. When the script was originally sold, there was a zombie element to it, but that has been completely removed in the rewrites, I’m told. Over 100 feature film executives vote on their top 3 favorite dark genre (horror, sci-fi, thriller) screenplays of the year. Seventy-seven of them earned votes, with screenplays requiring a minimum of four votes in order to make the final cut. I’m looking forward to reading some of these. When the enemy attacks, one group of heroes will fight for us all… Really? Well, good news, especially when Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck and Josh Hutcherson are in that group! So, we finally have the first TV spot for Red Dawn war action drama (’cause – when there’s war, there’s always drama, right?), which is set to open next month! Take a look at this short clip and let us know what you think about it!
I’m not a huge fan of war movies but I still think this one definitely deserves your attention, simply because an awesome cast is on board. Beside above mentioned trio, it also stars Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The story starts when an American city awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target.

The movie killing beast known around here as the fearsome Bloatedicus Budgetasaurus has struck again, this time dealing a death blow to a long talked about project that's gone straight to hell.
According to Variety, Legendary Pictures has officially pulled the plug on Alex Proyas' big-budget adaptation of John Milton's 17th century poem Paradise Lost due to budget issues.
Bradley Cooper, Ben Walker, Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Rufus Sewell, Camilla Belle, Diego Boneta and Callan McAuliffe were slated to star in the film, which Legendary initially pushed from January to June.
Insiders close to the production told Variety that while Proyas' vision of the movie was great, the technology wasn't quite there, and the filmmakers couldn't reduce the budget enough to satisfy Legendary.
Vincent Newman was set to produce Paradise Lost with Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni. The project was designed to showcase eye-popping aerial warfare, and Warner Bros.

After being delayed last month, when shooting was supposed to commence, it sounds like Paradise Lost is going to that big shelf in the sky where the epic Biblical war written by John Milton would've taken place. Deadline has word that Legendary Pictures has scrapped Alex Proyas' developing adaptation about the epic war in heaven between archangels Lucifer and Michael, including the latter's role in Adam and Eve's fall from grace. Talent like Bradley Cooper, Diego Boneta, Benjamin Walker, Casey Affleck and more had been lined up for the project, but apparently it's the heavy visual effects budget that has it dead. While Legendary may be shutting down the project for now, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and producer Vincent Newman will continue developing it to craft a budget (currently at around $120 million) that's a bit more reasonable. It's sad to hear this news not only because Proyas' visualization of...

Earlier today we reported that Legendary Pictures would halt the production of Alex Proyas’ adaptation of John Milton‘s epic poem Paradise Lost, due to budgetary problems. Proyas had promised epic battle scenes between armored angels. With the core cast competed and the script ready for a January shoot, Paradise Lost was basically ready to go. Now Legendary’s Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and producer Vincent Newman will continue developing it to rework a budget that had passed the $120 million mark by 10% or 15%.

Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost has been under development for some time now. After rounding out a couple of actors and some script rewrites, it would seem that the film is ready to go. It has been said that it would feature a few massive battles between armored airborne angels.
However it would seem that Paradise Lost has hit a snag, and budgetary problems could put the movie on hold indefinitely until they can get the budget worked out. This isn’t the first time we heard of a movie being put on hold until it can get the budget worked out. Disney recently put The Lone Ranger on hold, because the budget spiraled out of control and went as high as $250 million, which is abnormally high for a western.
Part of the reason why Paradise Lost needs to work out its budget is because of the combination of live-action shoots with intense CGI battle sequences.

The production of Alex Proyas’ adaptation of John Milton’s epic 17th-century poem, Paradise Lost, has been rolling right along with casting falling into place. Last week, we brought you news straight from star Bradley Cooper, who will play the fallen archangel Lucifer, on how his performance was to be captured through a motion-capture system, evolved from the technology used in James Cameron’s Avatar. But this high-tech system and the price of this epic film’s use of special effects is behind this latest news on the film.
Deadline reports that Legendary Pictures has put the brakes on the production of Paradise Lost. While this news sounds ominous, sources say that this does not mean that the project is being terminated. Legendary’s Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and producer Vincent Newman will be re-assessing the budget on the film to try to wrangle it down from its sizable $120 million price tag.

Bradley Cooper really wants to make Paradise Lost. Attached to play Lucifer since May with Alex Proyas in the director's chair, Cooper actually went as far as to drop out of the remake of The Crow because the two projects were scheduled to be in production at the exact same time. Now it looks like he may have jumped the gun with that decision, as the project has hit a major roadblock. According to Deadline, Legendary Pictures has brought Paradise Lost to a screeching halt and has postponed production indefinitely.
