After working on silents, then Don Juan, the first sound picture, Harry Redmond Sr. came from New York to Los Angeles in 1926. He worked in the special effects department of First National Studio from 1926 to 1930. He moved on to the special effects department at RKO 1931, then became head of special effects department at RKO from 1932 to 1935.
