- Trained as a ballerina, she first appeared on stage dancing with the Deutsche Oper in 1907. By 1914, Reval had switched to acting and worked regularly as a comedienne in Berlin theatres, as well as in silent movies. If anything, her career in sound film blossomed, popularly cast as jovial cooks, gossips, chatty wives or assorted 'fat ladies'.
