A spin-off of the original anime series, Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, Mononoke is undoubtedly one of the most peculiar original anime series we have on the market. It is an avant-garde series focusing on the supernatural, incorporating elements of mystery and psychological horror, as the series focuses on the unnamed traveling apothecary who is stingy with words. He travels with his medicine cabinet and a box containing a spiritual sword whose pommel is adorned with a monkey’s head, fighting numerous supernatural enemies along the way.
The original anime series ran for 12 series in 2007 but the series is coming back with a feature-length anime movie titled Mononoke: Karakasa, which is going to be released on July 26, 2024 in Japan. Today, a new trailer and a lot of new information has been released, so we are going to report everything to you here.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu on Yaiba returns this year to take over theaters across the globe with its -To the Hashira Training- 2024 World Tour, featuring the final episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc and premiering the Hashira Training Arc ’s first episode. We were there on the first leg of the tour in Tokyo on the second day of festivities — which included all the Hashira coming together on stage for the first time, with an extra helping of setsubun beans! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – but in 4K! One of the best aspects of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is its animation: Its lines are clean, the key animation is on point and the 3D effects only enhance the awesome fight choreography. For a TV anime, the series is already one of the best-looking. When blown up on a giant IMAX screen, you know you will get the same amazing action...

Time for a first look from Japan! Toei Animation has revealed a full trailer for a feature film version of the underrated anime series Mononoke, not to be confused with Studio Ghibli's beloved Princess Mononoke. It’s hard to know if the Japanese animated fantasy “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” might be a good entry point for anybody who hasn’t already either watched the recent anime series or read its battle shonen manga comic-book source material.
This new feature-length prequel doesn’t deliver much more than what the anime series already has: a satisfying, faithful, and hormonal action-drama about teenage “jujutsu” martial-artist sorcerers/exorcists and their ongoing quest to destroy monstrous sentient curses and cursed objects.
Set about a year before the events depicted in both the anime and the manga, “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” presents a self-contained story about Yuta Okkotsu (voiced by Megumi Ogata in the Japanese-language version), a young jujutsu sorcerer who’s haunted by the cursed spirit of his childhood sweetheart Rika (Kana Hanazawa), who died in a hit-and-run accident shortly after exchanging engagement rings and lovers’ vows with Yuta.

Toho has released the first trailer for their Godzilla: Monster Planet anime film and it looks pretty freakin' awesome! This first trailer gives us a great tease of what this movie will entail and it's very different from anything we've ever seen from the Godzilla franchise! The story is set 20,000 years in the future and the planet Earth is ruled by Godzilla and other kaiju monsters and the humans want to take it back!
This film will be Toho's 30th Godzilla movie and I can't wait to see it! Here's the detailed synopsis:
The last summer of the 20th century. On that day, the human race realized that they were not the only ruler of the planet earth.
The emergence of gigantic monsters “kaiju” and the ultimate existence that even can destroy the kaijus, Godzilla. After half-century of the war against the kaijus, the human race repeatedly defeated and decided to escape from the earth.

“Nobody knows when the world became this way,” intones young Suzu (Sora Amamiya) moments into “Blame!,” and though that world is familiar, it’s not without its surprises. Hiroyuki Seshita’s adaptation of the 10-volume manga by Tsutomu Nihei envisions a society in which man contended with machine and lost — now, untold years later, the few humans left within the unfathomably large Megastructure are on the brink of extinction.
This being a post-apocalyptic cyber-wasteland, our heroes are of course a band of survivors attempting to eke out an existence in the futuristic dystopia their once-thriving planet has become. They’re stymied in their efforts by Builders, Exterminators and other mechanical beasts roaming the Megastructure: some large, some small, all deadly. Resources are scarce, outfits are sleek and straits are dire.
Seshita drops us right into the action, which is likely to please diehards and confuse the uninitiated. Once you’re...

Last year it was announced that Toho was developing a Godzilla anime film for Netflix. As a fan of anime and Godzilla, this is a project I'm really excited about. We now have some new information to share with you regarding the plot, and we have some new concept art thanks to CrunchyRoll.
The anime film will be called Godzilla: Monster Planet, and it will mark Toho's 30th Godzilla movie! This film is also going to tell a story unlike any other Godzilla story we've seen before as it's set 20,000 years in the future and the planet Earth is ruled by Godzilla and other monsters.
The film focuses on a character named Haruo, featured in the poster above, who returns to Earth after the human race leaves it at the turn of the 20th century after Godzilla and other Kaiju beasts rise up and drive them out. Haruo's parents were killed by Godzilla,...

After more than 50 years, the King of the Monsters is getting the anime treatment. Toho is producing their first-ever Godzilla anime film, which will be heading to Netflix later this year.
After years of inactivity, the Godzilla franchise has become very productive lately. 2014 gave us Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla, which will spawn a sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019. A Japanese version by Toho called Shin Godzilla came out last year, winning Best Picture at the Japanese Academy Awards. And 2020 will give us the long-awaited crossover remake Godzilla vs. King Kong. On top of all that, we’re getting an anime film.
According to the site Bloody Disgusting, Netflix Japan announced the new animated film via Twitter. Co-Produced by Toho and Polygon Pictures. The film will be scripted by Gen Urobuchi and co-directed by Hiroyuki Seshita and Kôbun Shizuno, along with a voice actor cast including Yuuki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai,...

In case you weren't aware, Toho and Polygon Pictures have been collaborating for the past year on an exciting looking Godzilla anime! Judging from the new concept art (pictured below), it looks like the series is a mixture of Gundam meets kaiju? I like the idea of human piloted mechs searching out Godzilla, as that's something that an actual film would have trouble accomplishing without a massive budget!
Those who deeply follow the world of anime may be excited to learn that the cast includes Yuki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Tomokazu Sugita, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, and Mamoru Miyano! Those names don't mean too much to me personally, but Crunchyroll seemed very high up on the castings. Expect to hear more about this project and possibly see a teaser sometime in late March!

The on-demand service will premiere Knights of Sidonia in all territories on Friday, July 4.

For newcomers to Kentaro Miura’s Beserk, The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King will be a delightfully gory anime adventure. The first installment of the three-part series mixes middle-age architecture with fantastical elements drawn from Greek mythology. It’s one of the more serious anime on the market that doesn’t waste time with silly jokes and puns. There are even a couple epic siege scenes that appear to be inspired by Lord of the Rings – and one scene that reminded me of the siege on Kings Landing in Game of Thrones.
From the moment you begin watching it, you’ll relish in the brutal actions of Guts, a mercenary who feels more like a samurai gone rōnin. Even when the Arc I slams to a close, without any definitive ending, you’ll still be anxious to see part 2. Unfortunately, if you’re a fan of...

Four new cast interview videos were posted in December on the official website for the upcoming Berserk anime.
These videos are a new installment of cast interviews which follow a previous round that received mixed reviews from many anime fans. In these recent four interviews, the actors who will be voicing Judeau, Rickert, Charlotte, and Nosferatu Zodd were spoiled. The actors playins the parts will be Yuuki Kaji as Judeau, Aki Toyosaki as Charlotte, Minako Kotobuki as Rickert, and Kenta Miyake as the powerful Apostle Nosferatu Zodd. As an added bonus, these cast interviews featured animated clips, which serve to give fans a taste of the long-awaited Berserk film.
This means that, so far, the official website for the Berserk film has spoiled the characters mentioned above plus the actors playing Guts, Griffith, and Casca (Hiroaki Iwanaga, Takahiro Sakurai, and Toa Yukinari respectively.) We can still expect more interviews to...
