Ziggy Sears was born on 10 January 1892 in Central City, Kentucky, USA. He was an actor, known for The Babe Ruth Story (1948). He died on 16 December 1956 in Houston, Texas, USA.
A National League umpire from 1934 to 1945, he worked in the World
Series in 1938 and 1944, and in the All-Star Game in 1935 and 1944. His
son Kenny Sears went on to play for the New York Yankees.
