"For a while, I was always called a 'woman director,' which is weird
because I really feel like a director, not a woman director. I think
that as more and more women direct different kinds of movies, we'll
stop labeling things 'women's pictures' or hear people say, 'She makes
women's movies.' I'm a woman and I don't know exactly what that term
means. 'Women's pictures' are supposed to be something like a sensitive
