Tom Shankland's kinderhorror meanie "The Children" isn't an actual reason to avoid childbirth. That's a joke. Although, I wouldn't recommend the film to newfound parents exploring the wonders of parenting. What occurs is along the lines of "Who Can Kill a Child?" and its remake "Come Out and Play," or "Children of the Corn," where innocence is a coverup for murderous intent. Doubly dreary around the holidays since a majority of Xmas traditions point towards making youngins happy.
"The Children" ranks high atop the list of anti-holiday horror movies. Instead of spending Christmas and New Year's partying or unwrapping presents, kiddies turn into killers who prey upon adults. Children couldn't be capable of such atrocious crimes,...

Hollyoaks and the UK Home Office have launched a new advert as part of their 'This is Abuse' campaign.
The hard-hitting advert shows Patrick Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) raping his girlfriend Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) after she refuses to give her consent.
The advert was shown on Channel 4 after the 9pm watershed.
A previous advert saw Patrick going through Maxine's phone, before telling her to get changed because she looked 'cheap'.
This new advert aims to show teenagers that sexual abuse and rape can happen while in a relationship.
Crime Prevention Minister Norman Baker said: "Many young people do not understand that rape can, and does happen in relationships.
"We know that 33 per cent of girls and 16 per cent of boys have experienced some form of sexual violence from a boyfriend or girlfriend - this is why early intervention is crucial in order to prevent abuse before it starts.

Thankfully, I was proven wrong and loved this movie quite a bit. This British horror film was only given a straight to video release in America despite being given a theatrical release in the UK.
The plot is a small group of family and friends travel to a country home in an isolated snowy region for their Christmas get together.

Mac told All About Soap: "Darren suggests he goes to visit Patrick and pretend to be gathering information for the census! Dodger's shocked when he first sees Patrick's house - it's huge with expensive cars on the driveway. It's the opposite to the place where Dodger grew up. When Phillip Schofield tweeted earlier today that someone would be going topless on tonight’s Dancing On Ice, our writer Gerard was hoping it would be Frankie. Us girlies were delighted to see that it was in fact the super buff Danny Young.
Danny skated to the Rocky tune on the movie themed show, and obviously the half naked look worked for Danny because tonight he achieved his highest marks ever. Scoring 4.5 from each judge, Danny impressed even Jason Gardiner who admitted that the torso distracted him somewhat. He added:
‘It was brilliant. It was a really good move and you were fabulous!’

Dancing On Ice contestant Danny Young has admitted that his fans often send “saucy” messages to him on Twitter.
“I get some saucy Twitter messages, things like: ‘I can’t believe you’re single, you wouldn’t be if I bumped into you.’ It’s all good fun,” he told The Mirror.
“I’ve had a couple of naked pictures sent to me. Which is always nice on a Monday morning, gets you started for the day.”
Fellow skating star Gary Lucy admitted that he is more likely to receive a pair of granny pants than a sexy shot.
“I’ve been sent a few pairs of knickers in my time – big knickers as well, Bridget Jones granny pants. With no pictures of whoever sent them, thankfully,” he said.

Sharron Davies has become the latest celebrity to be voted off ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
This week Chris Dean and Jayne Torvill wanted Sharron to attack a more upbeat number but after a day of rehearsals she put her foot down and changed her song to the slower ‘Stay’ by Shakespeare Sister. We can’t help but wonder if Sharron’s decision not to follow Chris and Jayne’s advice, led to her eventual downfall on the show. Emma Bunton certainly wasn’t happy with her lack of drive.
Tonight the former Olympian swimmer found herself in the bottom two against Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack. In the skate off Emily skated to Alexandra Burke’s ‘Bad Boys’ and once again looked way too much like a good girl for it to be believable. However she didn’t stumble, or lose track of her routine so the judges unanimously saved...

We reported yesterday that due to a knee injury, Gary had missed a full day of training and in an interview with The Daily Star he admitted:
I’m not sure what happened, to be honest. Training was going really well but the next thing I knew I was down on the ice.”
“When I woke up the next day I found it really difficult to put any weight on my left knee. I wasn’t able to train at all on Friday.”
“I got back on the ice on Saturday and thankfully we got through rehearsals. But I’m disappointed as I loved this week’s routine. It was all coming together nicely.”

Welcome back to Unreality TV’s live coverage of Dancing On Ice. We’re coming to Dancing On Ice late tonight (thanks to Got To Dance on Sky One), so here we go with the first performance. We’ll drool about Holly Willoughby later…
Kieron Richardson
Arghhhh, my eyes my eyes! What the feck is Kieron Richardson wearing? Dayglo Seventies awfulness. His wee partner looks small enough to fit in your pocket, doesn’t she? They’re doing a disco-flavoured routine to Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry. A shaky routine to say the least, ended particularly badly when he almost dropped Brianne on her head!
Points: 15. Robin: Every week is different. You were on the button with the music. Tough when you’re working with a partner who has the presence Brianne has. Not as good as last week. Jason: A lot of your movement, there’s no end to them.

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has been giving his thoughts on this year’s contestants and one of the skaters to face his wrath, is former olympic swimmer Sharron Davies.
Speaking to The News Of The World, Jason predicted that Sharron won’t survive long on the show and added:
“She’s not artistic. At all. She doesn’t have the stature of a skater. She looked like a tree to me. It was like she was all branches – stiff and contorted.
“She’s worked very hard to be the top of her tree. Then she comes along and I say she looks like a tree. It goes down like a cup of cold sick.”

Jeremy Sheffield has claimed that his ballet background counted against him on Dancing On Ice. The former Holby City actor argued that people's "high expectations" of his dance skills damaged his chances on the ITV1 reality show. "People had high expectations for me and I think that worked against me. Everyone watched me for the first time and said, 'Oh, that's not what we thought it would be'," he told Digital Spy. "I felt that it might be some advantage to me, but in so many ways it really didn't help. It is a very different thing to dancing and technically, it is massively different. (more)...

Jeremy Sheffield has compared Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner to a "panto dame". The former Holby City actor, who was voted off the show last night, claimed that he found the Australian choreographer's scathing put-downs humorous. "He might [scare] some people, but I just think he's funny," Sheffield told Digital Spy. "He cracks me up and makes me laugh. He is a panto dame. He is like a drag queen with that raised eyebrow and those big teeth. "I think he is brilliant entertainment and I don't take it terribly seriously. The skaters on the panel, (more)...

Actor Jeremy Sheffield has become the latest celebrity contestant to be voted off the ITV1 series "Dancing on Ice". Sheffield was joined in the bottom two by Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies.
The "Holby City" star lost out on the public vote and was placed in the skate off along with Davis to then be unanimously voted off by the five judges. Sheffield said that he was "disappointed obviously" but that he is "ever so slightly relieved that [he is] not going to be in so much pain." The actor is a former ballet dancer but Judge Jason Gardiner doubted his ability saying "considering he's a dancer, or used to be, it looks like he's never danced."
Sheffield did not receive the lowest scores of the night; on the bottom of the leader board was GMTV's Dr Hilary Jones who after stumbling around the rink only received 7.5 out of a possible 30. The...

The 43-year-old actor - teamed with professional skater Susie Lipanova - lost out in the skate-off against athlete Sharron Davies last night (24.01.10). Jeremy did not appear too upset to be leaving the show, however, because of the pain training had caused him. He said: ''I am disappointed obviously, but am ever so slightly relieved that we're not going to be in so much pain. ''I felt I was starting to get up to speed but it was just too little too late.'' Danny Young has admitted that he is struggling with his latest Dancing On Ice routine.
The former Coronation Street actor admitted that he has fallen over a lot this week and is also finding it hard to master the frog lift. That was the manoeuvre that saw Sinitta being voted off after she messed it up, so nerves are running high!
“It’s proving really hard,” Young told The Mirror. “We’ve had a few tumbles and my partner’s blade has been pretty close to areas where you don’t want a sharp edge!”
A show source added: “It’s a very difficult routine. He’s already torn three outfits and his confidence is low.”
