Supernatural was one of the fantasy drama TV series that reigned over the small screen for years. The show focused on the Winchester Brothers, Sam and Dean portrayed by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively.
The demon hunting duo became immensely popular with the audience, and fans of the series were charmed by their bromance. It seemed like the actors were best of friends even off the screen, but one incident brought a new angle to the story. In 2021, Padalecki posted a tweet calling out his co-star for not being approached for his Supernatural prequel, leading fans to believe the pair were not in good terms.

Fans of the supernatural genre lived and breathed TV series like The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and The Originals. So when the Jensen Ackles starrer premiered its finale in 2020, it broke a lot of fan’s hearts and left a gaping hole.
However, an older video featured an amazing crossover idea that could unite two of the biggest TV show fandoms. Ackles was asked for a possible crossover he would have liked for his character Dean Winchester. His answer was what almost every fan demanded, with The Vampire Diaries. If taken into consideration this concept could bring back Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder for an epic reunion.

A question that hasn’t really been talked about much in the entertainment world is the whole spin-offs, remakes, and reboots thing. How smart is it to consider bringing back something that was super successful? There's a lot of reasons "Lost" was so successful, but a big one was Hugo "Hurley" Reyes (Jorge Garcia). He's one of the few survivors on the show who gets along with pretty much everyone; he doesn't have a mean bone in his body, except of course when Sawyer tries to make fun of his mental health. Hurley's a sweet and loyal friend, and he's funny in a way that rarely seems to boil down to an easy fat joke, which 2000s-era TV loved to indulge in.
Of course, Garcia doesn't always play a nice guy. Before "Lost" aired, he starred in a season 4 episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," playing a straight-man drug dealer for a nervous, awkward Larry David to bounce off of. Garcia's character here is still funny, but more because of how jaded and tired he is. He's only in the episode for one scene, but he makes a strong impression,...

There have been a lot of Star Trek shows coming out in the past few years, but few have captured hearts and minds like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This prequel series follows Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and his crew aboard the USS Enterprise, filling in the years before Captain James T. Kirk took over the ship in the original series. After experimenting with weightier storytelling in Star Trek Discovery and Star Trek: Picard, Strange New Worlds signified a return to form for the franchise with its adventure-of-the-week episodes and lighter tone.

“Aug. 19 makes five years since I was professionally on camera as an actor/producer,” Somerhalder said. “I stepped away from that after V Wars to build these companies, launch films like Kiss the Ground, Common Ground and Ground Swell and raise my kids. I remember sitting with my management talking about this, saying, ‘Hey, this is the only thing I’ve ever known that’s ever sustained my family, and I’m walking away from it,’ at this sort of peak, could have gone and done anything, but these partnerships mean way more to me.

Every generation has its stars, and the 2000s were no different. Whether in music or Hollywood, that era had its own standouts, and one of the big names was Ian Somerhalder. He first popped up in the iconic Lost back in 2004, but it was The Vampire Diaries that really put him on the map, turning him into one of the most beloved stars by fans.

With the vampire craze going strong at the time, it was no surprise that the actor rode that wave to boost his career. But even though he jumped into another project soon after, acting wasn’t really bringing him happiness. Somehow, Lost played a part in that, especially in how he joined and left the show. But how did that happen, exactly?

When Covid-19 hit, Paul Wesley, like most of the world, found himself at home with nothing to do. So, he and his then-neighbor, The Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder, started working together to bring a new kind of bourbon to the market.
Their effort to kill time led to the creation of their now-very successful alcohol: Brother’s Bond Bourbon. Since launching in 2021, the brand has become one of the fastest-growing whiskey brands, according to Whisky Advocate, which claims they’ve shipped more than 100,000 cases across the U.S. over the last three years.
Wesley and Somerhalder portrayed beloved onscreen brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore, respectively, on the hit CW show, bringing their close relationship offscreen for Brother’s Bond Bourbon.
When creating their whiskey brand, one of the most important things to the co-stars-turned-business-partners was that their product was authentically theirs and not just theirs in name alone. Not...

When the pilot of "Lost" aired on ABC in September of 2004, it became an instant hit for the network and catapulted its sprawling cast to stardom in the process. Created by J.J. Abrams alongside Jeffrey Lieber and Damon Lindelof — the last of whom would eventually become a co-showrunner with Carlton Cuse — "Lost" begins in the immediate aftermath of a massive plane crash on a deserted island, but things quickly get very, very complicated. When Oceanic flight 815 crashes on that island while traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles, the audience is introduced to the survivors ... and throughout the first season, they all get a closer look through flashbacks set before they ever boarded the doomed flight.
I should say this up-front: the cast of "Lost" is huge, so not every single important character will get a spotlight here. As far as the core cast is concerned,...

The Vampire Diaries was a hit, fan-favorite show on The CW for years!
Starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Matthew Davis and more, the supernatural drama ran from 2009 to 2017 for eight seasons.
The series spawned two spinoffs – The Originals and Legacies, and there’s even an idea for a fourth series in the Tvd universe.
Tvd centered on 17-year-old Elena (Dobrev), who was torn between two vampire brothers, good Stefan and the evil Damon, who face new dangers in the town of Mystic Falls.
Other stars on the show included Steven R McQueen, Sara Canning, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Kayla Ewell, Michael Trevino, Joseph Morgan and Michael Malarkey.
Since it’s debut in 2009, the stars have gone on to have successful careers in Hollywood, and they have wracked up impressive fortunes in the process. But who is the wealthiest? We did some digging and looked at the...

On 10 September 2009, we all walked into Mystic Falls and simply never left. We fell in love with everything The Vampire Diaries had to offer – heart-stealing bromances, selfless heroes, unforgettable couples in love, and even the villains. Everything was simply perfect. And then one day, it all came to an end. We said goodbye to our favorite vampires, witches, werewolves, and hybrids in 2017 but hey, what goodbye has actually lasted? Call us Tvd fans sappy but we keep going back to the series time and again to witness it all again as if we are seeing it for the first time.

In the realm of the supernatural genre, The Vampire Diaries occupies a very special separate space for being an incredibly intriguing and fascinating series about blood-sucking fictional beings known as Vampires. Having won several awards and fashioned off several spin-offs, the series remain as beloved as ever despite its end in 2017.

What made the tale even more interesting was that the series took creative liberty to expand upon the concepts of ‘Originals’ aka the first-ever Vampires, in turn leading to an equally successful series, The Originals. The concept turned out to be instrumental to the success of The Vampire Diaries, yet Ian Somerhalder has a good reason to be bitter about the show.

Imagine The Vampire Diaries without Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore. There, there. Hope you didn’t choke. But boy, it almost happened! In some wild alternate universe, the brooding vampire could’ve been played by none other than a Marvel star. Yep, before Somerhalder won fans over with his smirks and dangerous charm, the showrunners were eyeing a completely different actor—one who’s since made waves in the superhero world.

Blame it on Ian Somerhalder’s smoldering charisma and dangerously alluring bad-boy persona, that fans wanted more of him to appear onscreen. But who knew audiences’ thirst for the sizzling hot Damon Salvatore would ruin showrunner Julie Plec’s original plan for The Vampire Diaries?

Well, apparently fans’ daddy issues towards Ian Somerhalder seemingly derailed the entire plot for The Vampire Diaries. According to Julie Plec, the original plan was to keep Damon and Elena apart. However, as Somerhalder’s Damon turned up the heat, fans went wild for a love story that the writers never intended to ignite. What followed was a deliciously tangled web of fan obsession and creative maneuvering.

The Vampire Diaries must have had its SFX crew and Foley artists working overtime, considering how many gory deaths viewers saw and heard on the CW series. Bones breaking, heads rolling, veins spurting — all in a day’s work for the vamps, werewolves, and witches of Mystic Falls and the crew members who brought them to screen. In fact, a Fandom list of Tvd demises includes 20 decapitations, three dozen stakings, and more than 120 exsanguinations. And this was a show targeted to teenagers! "Smallville" began as a Superman origin story, showing Clark Kent (Tom Welling) growing up as a Kansas farm boy in the early aughts. His best friend? Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), of course! About halfway through, it became a straight-up Superman show that just didn't have the title or costume. Once you introduce the Justice League, you're out of the "prequel" period.
As this change happened, "Smallville" got very liberal about bringing in DC Comics characters — Clark even fought friggin' Darkseid in the 10th and final season! That makes two big absences stand out all the more. Batman and Wonder Woman, Superman's closest comrades and fellow parts of the DC Trinity, never show up in "Smallville."
At the 2024 TerrifiCon convention, Welling revealed it wasn't only fans who wanted Batman to pop in on "Smallville." Welling, though, said his ideal crossover would've been more low-key and free of any black, pointy-eared costumes:...

Julie Plec, co-creator of the hit supernatural drama “The Vampire Diaries,” has hinted at the possibility of a new series in the franchise. During a promotional event for her new Max series “The Girls on The Bus,” Plec shared her enthusiasm for expanding the “Vampire Diaries” universe.
“I have a story I still want to tell,” Plec told Screen Rant. “I know that the people who are on the book have a story that they still want to tell. I’m sure Warner Bros. has plenty of stories they want to tell. So, the hope is they’ll give me the opportunity to do it again. We’ll see.”
While no specific details were provided about the potential new series, Plec suggested that L. J. Smith’s original novels could serve as inspiration. The franchise, which began with “The Vampire Diaries” in 2009, has already spawned two successful spin-offs: “The Originals” and “Legacies.

Over the years, the main cast, including Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Candice Accola, Kat Graham, Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning, and others, was majorly seen in almost every episode of each season however, one of the main character, Elena Gilbert (Dobrev) was sadly missing following season 6 finale.

There are always several ways to go about a popular topic in fiction. High and low fantasy; grounded and space sci-fi; man-made and natural apocalypse; you name it. However, when it comes to vampires, the rules were set over a century ago: it’s a magical condition, a curse that turns dying humans into those bloodsucking night crawlers who crave for human victims and dark aesthetics.
There have been many attempts to turn vampires from fantasy to sci-fi, each of them properly disastrous — but we’re here to talk about the most recent and decent one.
