John Buco hails from Brooklyn, New York. Buco attended parochial schools and first started acting in plays while in school. Following graduation from St. John's Preparatory School in New York City, John enlisted in the U.S. army in 1969. While serving in the army Buco worked as a disc jockey for a radio station down south. John finished his service with the army in February, 1972 and returned to New York City. Buco answered an ad in The Village Voice placed by Lawrence T. Cole which led to him appearing in his first hardcore loop in mid-1972. John struck up a friendship with established East Coast porn regular Marc Stevens that enabled him to embark on a subsequent career as a mainstay in X-rated fare made throughout the early to mid-1970's. During the time Buco was doing hardcore films he also worked as a tour manager for jazz guitarist Larry Coryell and waited tables at various diners. After quitting porn John briefly worked as a hairdresser in Schenectady, New York before going on to work as a staff announcer and director of corporate marketing for a cable TV station, a truck driver, and finally a New York State income tax auditor prior to eventually retiring and getting married in August, 2018.
