- As the administrator of the Ramona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 1992 Jan Stine found there was a shortage of certified nursing assistants. He hired nine people to make beds. He was ordered to fire them by the California Health Department because they were not certified and they did not speak English. Stine felt that beds could be made properly in any language. He contacted a Channel 2 consumer advocate who visited the facility and aired four segments on the controversial situation. The television coverage reached legislators in Sacramento and new regulations were approved that enabled the Ramona Care Center to keep its nine employees. Jan Stine was very pleased that his diligence resulted in helping over 2,000 nursing homes across the state.
- Beginning on January 1, 1990 Jan Stine was the Head Administrator for a 148-bed facility for those requiring long term care in a home-like non-institutional setting. Mr. Stine's professional staff numbered over one hundred at the Ramona Care Center in El Monte, California, USA.
- The San Gabriel Valley Lutheran Young Adults, a social group of young adults and marrieds, met on Sunday, February 13, 1966, for a Valentine party in Pasadena, California, USA. Jan Stine from Altadena, who had appeared in leading roles in a religious television series "This is the Life" and a graduate of the Pasadena Playhouse at Occidental College, was the speaker.
- The 1956 Best Boy Citizen Award was chosen by the student body of Fort Wayne Central High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA. The recipient was Jan Stine, Student Council president.
- At the time of his death in 2010 Mr. Stine was survived by his wife, seven children, twenty-three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his mother.
- Jan Stine had a key role in a 1955 Fort Wayne Central High School play, "Gift Hoss," and the same school year in "The Taming of the Shrew" played one of six dinner guests.
- During the 1955-1956 school year at Fort Wayne Central High School Jan Stine in "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" played a Mr. Peepers type shy teacher character, Ninian Edwards.
- In early 1995 Jan Stine, a member of the La Verne, California, USA stake presidency for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, coordinated a volunteer effort that enabled the California community's sister city, Acambaro, Mexico, to be the dinner guests in La Verne. Many La Verne city officials attended and enjoyed traditional American and Mexican entertainment.
- A member of The National Thespian Society, Jan Stine was a member the cast in "A Man Called Peter" in the Fort Wayne Central High School 1956 senior class play.
- In 1995 Jan R. Stine was also the head administrator for the Socal Post-Acute Care facility in Whittier, California, USA.
