Biography

I was a fat gay boy who who grew up in Oklahoma wanting to be a dancer.

My favorite part of directing is driving to the set every day and seeing all the trailers and realizing that everybody's there because I had an idea and decided to write it down; and the idea that people are there every day to solve a creative riddle.

I've always had a fascination with iconoclastic women, and I wanted to tell a love story about two kids who have that kind of relationship. I've had that kind of relationship repeatedly in my life, with all these great women. What I love about them is that they don't seem afraid of the world.
