- Sound Department
Gary Katsuya Ushino was born in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fascinated by film making, and growing up in the shadow of Industrial Light and Magic, he pursued a career in camera work in Hollywood. He earned an Associates Degree in Communications and Media Studies at the College of Marin and then his Bachelors Degree in Radio-TV-Film Production at California State University Northridge in Los Angeles. According to IMDB, he is credited with at least 115 TV and feature films including some sound department credits for animation work at DIC Entertainment while still "breaking into" Hollywood. In 2019, after 31 years of TV and cinema, he left the industry in favor of a better more tranquil life in North Carolina. He has since formed his own small video production company for business promotional videos in the Raleigh, North Carolina area called Applebox-Media.
Why North Carolina you may ask? The answer is that Gary fell in love with North Carolina while filming the action stunt/racing unit of "Talladega Nights", in the Charlotte and Rockingham areas of North Carolina.
