Amy Adams came onstage at Variety‘s Power of Women event Thursday night after a rousing introduction from her friend Elizabeth Banks.

“One of the lessons that Amy is teaching me is how to have a real fuck it attitude about aging in this industry. She is not slowing down at all,” Banks said. “Amy is always thinking about the people around her, trying to build a better world for us and the next generation.”

Adams was honored for her work with the RightWay Foundation, an organization that provides foster youth who are aging out of the foster care system with the resources they need to build a sustainable adulthood.

After yesterday’s news that Hayley Atwell would reprise her role as Agent Carter in Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., the question that immediately sprung to mind was how? Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns later this month in the Us (there’s still no word on whether or not it will be returning to Channel 4 on this side of the pond), and Marvel have revealed the full cast list for the second season’s first episode. As a result, we now know that Hayley Atwell will be making an appearance!

With Atwell set to star in her own eight episode Agent Carter series during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. mid-season hiatus, you have to imagine that this will be some sort of flashback which helps set up the show.

When I saw this I immediately thought of Knowing, The Mothman Prophecies, and the book Simple Simon. Knowing drowned itself by its third act, The Mothman Prophecies was surprising good, with a mix of the supernatural and thriller and Simple Simon was made into an average Bruce Willis film. Touch seems more action based with Kiefer Sutherland’s Martin Bohm going out on missions his son assigns him through his gift (watch the TV trailer, you’ll see).
