Oscar nominee Kathleen (aka Bird) York started acting in her late teens and has since been seen (and heard) across a multitude of film, TV, and music platforms. Career highlights include her recurring role as "Congresswoman Andrea Wyatt" in six seasons of The West Wing (1999). Her critically-acclaimed portrayal of Naomi Judd (from ages 27-47), in the four-hour NBC miniseries Judd's biopic, Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge (1995). Her comedic turn as "Daphne Hightower" opposite Diane Keaton in the film, Northern Lights (1997), as well as roles in HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm and True Blood. She's recurred on How To Get Away With Murder, Desperate Housewives, The O.C., Jane The Virgin, Murder One and Cinemax's Outcast. Series regular roles include the 2019 season of CW's In The Dark, NBC's Tin Man (pilot) and ABC's A House Divided and Vengeance Unlimited. York is also an accomplished songwriter and recording artist, garnering an Oscar nomination for her song, "In The Deep", in the Oscar-winning film, Crash (2004). Her songs have also been heard as the main theme in Sony's Seven Pounds (2008).on House (2004), American Idol (2002), CSI: NY (2004), Nip/Tuck (2003), Everwood (2002) and dozens of other film and television projects. As a screenwriter, York, an alumni of The Showrunner's Training Program, has developed television pilots for Warner Bros, Sony, Paramount and Fox Television. As recording artist Bird York she has two records in release: "Bird York" and "Wicked Little High."
