“America’s Got Talent” is TV’s only competition show that embraces all forms of variety acts, whether you’re a singer, a comedian, a magician, an aerialist, or anything in between. Throughout its nearly two decades on NBC, seven solo singers have claimed victory, with the most recent one being Season 14’s Kodi Lee. (See the “AGT” winners list.) However, there are four specific categories that have yet to win the top prize of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas. Can any of these types of acts make “AGT” history during the Season 19 finale on Tuesday, September 24?
First up, here’s a refresher on this year’s Top 10 finalists: singer Richard Goodall, quick-change artist Solange Kardinaly, air-dance group Airfootworks, dance crew Brent Street, singer Dee Dee Simon, acrobatic group Hakuna Matata Acrobats, comedian Learnmore Jonasi, dog act Roni Sagi & Rhythm, aerial duo Sebastián & Sonia, and drone group Sky Elements.

Monday night during the Semi-finals 2 episode of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League,” Australian singer Sheldon Riley from “AGT” Season 15 returned to the big stage with his rendition of “golden hour” by Jvke. While Mel B (his mentor), Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell gave him mostly positive comments, Howie Mandel received boos from the studio audience for his harsh criticism of Sheldon’s performance.
“You know, I’m just gonna say what I thought,” Howie declared when it was his turn to speak. “I think you’re one of the best singers we have heard on this show. But tonight, I thought that was way off. I found that way off.” As the crowd reacted negatively to Howie’s comments, he continued on, “Rather than hitting the notes, you were hitting volume, and you stayed in one little plane and it was just loud. The fifth episode of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” upped the ante on the immense level of talent thanks to the first group of semi-finalists. But one particular moment stood out for all the wrong reasons, as judge Heidi Klum called out one of the contestants, magician Anna Deguzman, for being “rude” toward her fellow panelist, Mel B. In the end, the Season 18 runner-up offered up a heartfelt apology, but not before Heidi told her, “That did not make me like you so much.”
It all started when Anna asked Mel and Howie Mandel to help her out with her close-up trick on the big stage. Midway through the act, the Bergenfield, NJ magician instructed Mel to pick either a $1 bill or a $100 bill, and when Mel inexplicably chose a $20 bill (which was not one of the options), Anna chuckled and stated, “It’s okay, you’re pretty.”

The series premiere of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” delivered the reality TV show’s first major twist when Mel B utilized her Golden Buzzer to steal Billy & Emily England from Simon Cowell‘s team. Remember, for NBC’s “AGT” spin-off series, each judge cultivates their own team of 10 all-star acts, fan-favorites and former winners, but the Golden Buzzer twist allows the judges to “steal” someone else’s contestant and advance them into the season finale. (Think of it as “The Voice” on steroids.)
“I feel really excited. I feel amazing,” Mel B proclaimed during the January 1 episode after the confetti fell onto the brother-sister rollerblading duo. The camera then cut to Simon, who gritted his teeth in anger. Watch the Golden Buzzer video above.
Emily seemed to rub salt in Simon’s wound when she told host Terry Crews, “Honestly, when Simon called me, the 11-year-old Emily was a little bit upset.

“AGT: Fantasy League” premiered on January 1 with the first set of 10 performances in “Qualifiers 1.” The new spin-off series marks the return of former judge Mel B as she joins Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel in a head-to-head competition to mentor an all star ‘AGT’ act through the season to victory. Terry Crews is back once again for hosting duties.
Over eight weeks of shows, the judges’ Dream Teams of 10 will be narrowed down until only one stands as the newest AGT champion and takes home the $250,000 cash prize. That act will also give their mentor the first coach’s win in AGT history. In the four qualifiers, 10 acts perform with one receiving the week’s Golden Buzzer and five others advancing to the next round based on an audience vote.

The premiere episode of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” aired Monday, January 1 on NBC with the first set of 10 all-star acts, fan-favorites and former winners returning to the big stage to compete alongside the judges. At the end of the episode, six acts advanced to the next round: V.Unbeatable, Kodi Lee, Shadow Ace, Kseniya Simonova and Kristy Sellars via the audience vote, and Billy & Emily England thanks to Mel B‘s Golden Buzzer. That meant four acts were eliminated with no chance of winning the $250,000 grand prize.

The live shows of “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 begin on Tuesday, August 22 with the first “Qualifiers” round. In this stage of the competition, the acts sent through by the judges during the “Auditions” phase will perform again for a chance to advance to the finals. Of the 55 acts we know advanced to this round, 21 incorporate some form of singing in their overall talent. That’s over a third of the acts still in the competition, leaving us to wonder whether singing acts have a distinct advantage when it comes to the world’s biggest talent show. The confetti. The tears. The hugs. Admit it: you just can’t get enough of those emotional Golden Buzzer moments on “America’s Got Talent” … and neither can we. This twist was first introduced on the American version of the worldwide talent competition in Season 10, and it’s been an integral part of NBC’s reality TV show ever since.
Throughout the auditions, the four “AGT” judges (and the host as of Season 11) get to press the Golden Buzzer for a single act that moves them emotionally, which sends the performer straight through to the live shows. During the now-defunct Judge Cuts round, guest panelists are allowed to push the button as well for their favorite act. At the start of Season 18, Simon Cowell announced that there’d be a new audience-voted buzzer for an act that wows the crowd. Want a refresher on all of the “America’s Got Talent” Golden Buzzers through the years?...

One of the most talked-about acts to come out of this year’s “America’s Got Talent” auditions is Putri Ariani, thanks in no small part to Simon Cowell blessing her with his Season 18 Golden Buzzer. All these months later, Simon is reflecting on the 17-year-old blind singer/songwriter’s audition at the piano and he’s expecting big things for her in this competition. “I would be amazed if she’s not either the winner or the runner-up. I mean, that’s who I put my money on,” he reveals in the NBC video above.
Putri came all the way from Indonesia to show the world her talent, and she performed two songs on the big stage: “Loneliness” and “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.” “There was something about her, even before she started to sing,” Simon now declares. “I just — I had a feeling. And I’ve done this a long time.

When Simon inquires about their big dream, the leader proudly responds, “We are here to win.” Watch the “AGT” sneak peek video above.

Heading into Monday’s season finale of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” you would have been gravely mistaken if you thought Kodi Lee had this thing in the bag. In fact, the “AGT” superfans who voted for the winner didn’t even rank the fan-favorite singer, who was born blind and autistic, in their Top 5. When host Terry Crews announced the results during the February 27 finale, it was as if the air was let out of the room. The audience gasped in shock while judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel kindly stood up and applauded his exit.
In case you missed the episode, the Top 5 acts, according to the superfans, were aerialist Aidan Bryant (the winner), saxophonist Avery Dixon (the runner-up), light-up dance group Light Balance Kids (third place) ventriloquist Ana-Maria Mǎrgean (fourth place) and magician Aidan McCann (fifth place).

Fourteen years ago during the eighth season of Fox’s “American Idol,” Simon Cowell was one of the people who judged aspiring singer Adam Lambert on a weekly basis. Even though Simon critiqued Adam early on for being too theatrical, Simon soon became one of his biggest supporters. “Over the entire season, you’ve been one of the best, most original contestants we’ve ever had on the show,” the British judge declared during that show’s 2009 finale. “The hope and whole idea of a show like this is to find a worldwide star, and I truly believe we’ve found that in you.”
Flash-forward to 2023, and the two popular personalities reunited during the season finale of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars.” Simon was seated at the judges’ desk (next to Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel), while Adam was up on the big stage performing his version of “Chandelier...

Are you as surprised as we are that aerialist Aidan Bryant was chosen as the first “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” winner on Monday night. Do you think he deserved to win “AGT: All-Stars” or were you rooting for someone else to take the title? Cast your vote in the poll below and then sound off in the comments section.
When we surveyed viewers before the finale on Feb. 27, they overwhelmingly wanted Kodi Lee to win the first season of this “AGT” spin-off. This inspirational singer, who won the season 14 title, had wowed everyone with his soaring performance of “Biblical” on the final preliminary show.
Lee was one of the four previous “America’s Got Talent” champs to compete on this all-star edition of the NBC programming staple. Among the others was magician Dustin Tavella, who bested Bryant last season on “AGT.” They both competed in the second preliminary round episode, which aired last month.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” concluded Monday night with the “Finale Results” that determined which of the season’s 60 all-star acts from across global AGT franchises became “All-Stars Champion.” Last week, the 11 finalists performed for the final time, hoping to be selected by the superfans as the winner. Tonight, they returned to the stage to hear the results and to perform in a finale celebration alongside each other and a star-studded lineup of guests.
In this new spin-off series, former “Got Talent” contestants competed in a six-week audition showdown to determine which acts would advance this final stage of the competition. Five of the acts advanced as Golden Buzzer picks from the judges and the other six were chosen by a select group of superfans from across the country. The 11 finalist acts were Aidan Bryant, Aidan McCann, Ana-Maria Mărgean, Avery Dixon, Bello Sisters, Detroit Youth Choir, Kodi Lee, Light Balance Kids,...

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” aired the first part of its finale Monday night with 11 acts performing for the big win. The new spin-off series features former “Got Talent” contestants from America and beyond, competing in a seven-week showdown to determine which ultimate all-star will claim the title of “Got Talent World Champion.” Longtime series judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum return to the judges’ panel with Terry Crews on stage for hosting duties.
Below are my Top 11 rankings for the Monday, February 20th episode of “AGT: All-Stars.”

Season 1 Finale Performances ranked:
11. Mike E. Winfield: Comedians have historically never claimed the prize on AGT, which has angered some viewers. Those who are bitter that a comic has yet to win might want to take a drink next week because my gut instinct is that history will repeat itself.

During Monday’s “Finale Performances” episode of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” Kodi Lee demonstrated why he is the fans’ choice to win the reality TV show. The inspirational singer, who was born blind and autistic, belted out a pitch-perfect rendition of David Bowie‘s “Heroes” that had the judges up on their feet (watch above). Howie Mandel called him a “hero every day,” Heidi Klum dubbed him the “ultimate all-star,” and Simon Cowell raved that he’s “so cool and so brilliant.”
Last week, Gold Derby conducted a poll asking viewers to name which of the 11 finalists they’re rooting for to win, and a whopping 40% of respondents voted for Kodi. He had just performed “Biblical” on the big stage and then had a concise message for the “AGT” superfans: “Help me change the world.” Kodi originally competed on Season 14 of “America’s Got Talent” where his song list included “A Song For You,...
