In Hollywood’s cinematic world, there have been villains who’ve even outshined the lead protagonist when it comes to stage presence and completely immersing themselves in the role they’re playing. While this is true for some, the story is not the same for season 4 of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, whose antagonist, Caroline Warner, has been receiving some flak from family drama aficionados.
Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner on Yellowstone || Paramount
The CEO of Market Equities, portrayed by the evergreen and inimitable Jacki Weaver, was introduced in the show’s fourth season as a formidable rival to the Dutton’s, Montana’s largest ranch owners (fictional). While her portrayal of the character impressed some viewers, it did not have the same effect on others.

Taylor Sheridan, with his tremendous plethora of shows and movies, is unquestionably a fan favorite. The most notable of them is the American neo-western drama Yellowstone, which premiered on the Paramount Network in 2018 and is in its fifth and final season, with the second part set to air in November of this year.
The series kept viewers intrigued by the fictional lives of Montana’s biggest ranch owners, the Duttons. Further, the sibling rivalry between Jamie and Beth Dutton is also one of several themes explored in the series, in addition to the family drama.

However, with the second half being under wraps until November, fans have had plenty of time to ponder if Jamie Dutton might be given the best arc that would even bend the knee of Beth Dutton, Sheridan’s favorite character on set.

“Truth won’t win the battle… menace will,” tough-as-nails “Yellowstone” patriarch John Dutton utters coldly and indignantly in the lead-up to the devastating conclusion of a rip-roaring first half of the Paramount Network blockbuster’s fifth season. The first eight episodes of the show’s fifth season concluded in January, so fans of TV’s top-rated show are now clamoring for the series’ return. The second half of the season is due later this year, promising even more bloodshed and tears, political in-fighting, back-stabbing, fist-fights and corporate scheming set against the breathtaking backdrop of the unforgiving Montana wilderness.

Yellowstone star Wes Bentley admits that playing Jamie Dutton isn’t great for his mental health. He says that the plight of his character — and the anger and depression that comes with it — has forced him to create some boundaries. He talks about “many things” with creator Taylor Sheridan but prefers to stay in the dark about what’s “coming” for Jamie.

This article contains spoilers for Yellowstone season 5 episodes 1-2.
Audiences have made Yellowstone’s Dutton clan television royalty for a reason. For 150 years within their fictional Montana kingdom, the Duttons have fought for their family and their legacy – and they fight hard. The way they play the game may have changed over that century and a half – trading guns for law degrees, or governorships – but their family motto remains the same throughout the generations. They will win at any cost.
In the 41 episodes we’ve been given so far, those who have opposed Montana’s first family have usually met a nefarious end, taking a one-way trip to the “train station.” Many have tried to destroy the Duttons or a part of the land they love, and while some enemies have certainly come close, no one has truly been a match.
That may soon change.
Still in its infancy, season...

Yellowstone is a Paramount Network show, while Tulsa King will find its place on the streaming service Paramount+, both produced by 101 Studios.

Season four of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone ended with Beth forcing Jamie’s hand and compelling him to murder his biological father. Episode: “One Hundred Years is Nothing”
Plot: John Dutton is sworn in as Governor of Montana. As John settles into the power of his new office, he makes a bold move to protect the Yellowstone Ranch from his opponents.
Review: After the massive cliffhanger to the third season that left the fates of much of the Dutton clan up in the air, the fourth season of Yellowstone ended on a high note with Rip and Beth getting married and John Dutton declaring his candidacy for Governor of Montana. As the fifth season begins, the Dutton era begins as John takes the oath of office and the legacy of his ranch and his family is seemingly secured. But, now the question is whether or not John Dutton will make it through his four-year term unscathed. With a pulse-pounding two-hour premiere, Yellowstone is back with more wrangling, backstabbing, political machinations, and more.

The phenomenon that is the Paramount+ series “Yellowstone” feels unprecedented. Creator Taylor Sheridan revisited the myth of the Western with his feature films before bringing it to television in 2018, a time when the genre was the stuff of Chuck Norris. But the runaway success of “Yellowstone” has already led to other networks attempting to cash in on audiences’ love for the majesty of flyover states, such as ABC’s “Alaska Daily” and “Big Sky” and The CW’s “Walker: Independence.”
And with more and more fans discovering “Yellowstone” — especially with its Season 5 premiere coming November 13 — it’s worth looking at where the show started and where things ended up. “Yellowstone” follows the Duttons, led by patriarch John (Kevin Costner) and his children Jamie (Wes Bentley), Beth (Kelly Reilly), and Kayce (Luke Grimes), as they struggle to maintain their power and retain control of their ranch, the titular Yellowstone. With the recent release of the season 5 trailer, it appears as if the show has no intention of slowing down.

In the first trailer for “Yellowstone” Season 5, John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is now officially a triple threat: Cowboy, gangster and Montana governor. But as the new season’s tagline says, “power comes at a price,” and that price appears to be either a literal or metaphorical war with the Dutton family’s many, many enemies.
The series returns to Paramount Network on Nov. 13. See the trailer at the top of the page now.
Right off the bat, the trailer reminds us that “Yellowstone” runs on nonstop menace with John taking his oath while getting sworn into office. When he gets to the part where he says “enemies, both foreign and domestic,” the camera makes a point of lingering on three of them: His estranged son Jamie (Wes Bently); his rival, occasional ally-of-convenience, and Broken Rock Tribal Chairman Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham); and Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver), the CEO of Market Equities.

It’s not a spoiler to reveal that John Dutton (Kevin Costner) becomes governor of Montana in season five of Yellowstone.
In fact, it’s the opening scene of the trailer for the coming season of the Paramount Network hit, which premieres Nov. 13. John announced his candidacy and secured the endorsement of the outgoing governor (Wendy Moniz) during the show’s fourth season — seemingly to spite Jamie (Wes Bentley), who was set to run for the post himself. The campaign, it appears, was a successful one.
John’s new job does not mean, however, that Yellowstone is turning into The West Wing: Montana. The remainder of the trailer (watch it below) highlights the infighting, power plays and family drama for which the show is known and loved by more viewers than any series on cable. Standout moments include John firing most of the...

Ahead of its Season 5 premiere on Nov. 13, Taylor Sheridan’s ridiculously addictive western soap opera “Yellowstone” has announced its cast for the upcoming season and it’s a mixture of returning faces and brand-new performers.
Returning cast members confirmed for Season 5 include Josh Lucas (Young John Dutton), Jacki Weaver, Kylie Rogers (Young Beth Dutton) and Kyle Red Silverstein (Young Rip Wheeler).
Additionally, Mo Brings Plenty (Mo) and Wendy Moniz (Governor Lynelle Perry) have been upped to series regulars, which is very good news indeed.

What’s interesting is how many of the younger versions of the characters are back, implying additional (and probably lengthier) flashback sequences that could also inform the ever-growing suite of “Yellowstone” spin-offs, including “1932,” which will star Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

The Dutton-verse expands. Taylor Sheridan‘s Yellowstone announced a slew of exciting casting updates on Friday, June 10. Fan favorites Wendy Moniz (Governor Lynelle Perry) and Mo Brings Plenty (Mo) have been upped to series regulars for Season 5, premiering November 13. In addition to their promotions, the Paramount Network series confirmed Josh Lucas will return in the upcoming season in his recurring role as young John Dutton. Jacki Weaver, Kylie Rogers, and Kyle Red Silverstein will also be back in the new episodes. Weaver was Kelly Reilly‘s Season 4 adversary Caroline Warner. Rogers plays young Beth Dutton, and Silverstein plays young Rip Wheeler. With that, it seems we’ll be getting more Dutton flashbacks in Yellowstone Season 5, which will also show Beth and Rip’s life as a married pair. But that’s not all. Kai Caster (American Horror Story), Lainey Wilson, Lilli Kay, and 1883 actor Dawn Olivieri have also been added...

As production on Yellowstone’s biggest season yet continues, its cast, appropriately enough, keeps growing, too. Paramount Network announced on Friday that Wendy Moniz and Mo Brings Plenty, who’ve recurred since Season 1 as, respectively, Governor Lynelle Perry and Rainwater’s right-hand man Mo, have been promoted to series-regular status for Season 5.
But that’s just the tip of the bull’s horn casting-wise. In addition, the network revealed that Josh Lucas, Kylie Rogers and Kyle Red Silverstein will be reprising their roles of the younger versions of John, Beth and Rip. What’s more Kai Caster (American Horror Story:...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of Sunday night’s Season 4 premiere of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone.
The close of Season 4 of Paramount’s wildly popular Yellowstone left major questions about the viability of the Dutton Clan and their sprawling ranch. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) was shot up and left for dead by a roadside, as a slug hitting the cell phone in his shirt pocket was the only thing that kept his heart beating; daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) was cleaning out her office after being fired when the windows shattered onto the street after her assistant opened a box with a bomb packed in it. And Kayce (Luke Grimes) was last seen overturning his desk and returning fire as gunmen sprayed automatic weapon fire in his direction.
And the list of suspects was great: Could it have been black sheep son Jamie at the prodding of his murderous biological...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the two-hour Season 4 premiere of “Yellowstone.”
The Dutton family may have survived an attack at the end of the third season of “Yellowstone,” but the war looks to only be beginning and the first casualty of Season 4 is Josh Holloway’s Roarke.
The two-hour Season 4 premiere began with finishing the events of the Season 3 finale, with John (Kevin Costner) being driven to a hospital to treat his gunshot wound, Beth (Kelly Reilly) bruised and bloody and temporarily unable to hear — though still willing to light a cigarette — after a box blew up in front of her, and Kayce (Luke Grimes) firing back at those who came driving by blasting their guns.
Much of the first hour (titled “Half the Money”) was focused on the Duttons getting their feet back up under them, especially John, who was not happy to be...

There’s a new vulture hungry to acquire the Duttons’ Montana cattle ranch on Yellowstone: ruthless Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver), CEO of Market Equities, the company that employs familiar schemer Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway). “She’s a city slicker walking through fields of cowpats in designer heels and classy tailored suits. She looks out of place, but she’s terrifying,” says Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), a two-time Oscar nominee who didn’t recognize her reflection the first time she stepped into character. “She takes no prisoners, treats everyone badly–and is going to add another dimension to the huge cataclysmic drama that is the Duttons.” If any of them are left! The bloody Season 3 finale ended with gunmen opening fire on patriarch John (Kevin Costner) and favorite son Kayce (Luke Grimes) and a bomb addressed to tough daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) going boom. “It was shocking, absolutely horrifying,” says Weaver,...

The show we've been waiting over a year for finally returns later this year, and, damn, it's going to be a turbulent journey.
Yellowstone Season 4 begins with a double-episode premiere on Sunday, November 7.
If you watch Yellowstone online, you know the series has left the fate of many characters up in the air.
During the trailer, we get to see Mia finding an unconscious Jimmy after falling off his horse.
Could this be the actual big death on tap for the thrilling drama?
Unfortunately, the trailer does not shed light on the fate of Kevin Costner’s John, Kelly Reilly’s Beth, or Luke Grimes’ Kayce, so we're probably going to be kept out of the loop until the series returns.
The trailer does give us a look at Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner, so that's fun.

“Every… body… pays,” warns the pulse-pounding Season 4 Yellowstone trailer that Paramount Network dropped Thursday. And from the looks of it, at least one character is going to pay with his life: Based on Mia’s reaction to finding an unconscious Jimmy after his latest fall off a horse, he just might have saddled up for the last time.
Cleverly, the clip, thrilling as it is, doesn’t give any clues as to whether Kevin Costner’s John, Kelly Reilly’s Beth or Luke Grimes’ Kayce survived the Season 3 finale’s attempts on their lives. But we do get our first...

It's going to be a long summer without the Duttons.
Paramount Network has confirmed the rumors:
Yellowstone Season 4 is delayed.
The cabler dropped a teaser trailer that confirmed the series would be back on the air in the fall, and Deadline reported a more definite return date.
November is when we can expect new episodes.
It's a bummer for sure, especially given that the first three seasons launched during the month of June in the past three years.
No reason has been given for the delay, but recent reports suggest that some scenes were either reshot or new scenes were added after formal production had been completed.
Meanwhile, the series has added some new cast members ahead of the return.
Jacki Weaver will portray Caroline Warner, the CEO of Market Equities.
Piper Perabo will portray Summer Higgins, an outside protestor from Portland who is against the state-funded police force that...

Exclusive: Fans of cable TV’s top rated series Yellowstone who are accustomed to following the Dutton clan each summer will have to hold their horses for Season 4. Deadline hears that the show has officially left the warm season slot it held for its first three seasons. While no one would confirm a rock solid debut date, I hear they are eyeing early November for the start of the new season of the Paramount Network series. It will join the launch corridor for most returning prestige and must see shows, when eyeballs are optimized and Yellowstone gets the chance to cross promote on CBS’s NFL broadcasts, with a season that will run through the holidays.
Joining the cast in Season 4 will be Jacki Weaver, who’ll play Caroline Warner, the CEO of Market Equities that is trying to crush the hold that John Dutton (Kevin Costner) has on his sprawling Montana ranch.
