Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, Jake developed a strong fascination in the art of filmmaking by the age of seven.
While his initial artistic influences included blockbuster filmmakers Steven Spielberg (Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark), George Lucas (Star Wars Trilogy, Indiana Jones Trilogy), Robert Zemeckis (Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future Trilogy), James Cameron (The Terminator, Aliens), Richard Donner (Goonies, Lethal Weapon Series), and John Milius (Conan the Barbarian), Jake would develop a deep admiration for the work of filmmakers Sam Peckinpah (The Wild Bunch, Straw Dogs, The Getaway), Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather Trilogy, The Conversation, Apocalypse Now), Martin Scorsese (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas), William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist), Brian DePalma (Blow Out, Dressed To Kill, Carrie, Untouchables), Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing, Escape From New York).
Jake made the decision to pursue a career in filmmaking at the age of thirty-eight. Upon his relocation to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Jake found his initial experiences performing in background roles on television (Mrs. America, American Gods), and applying himself on set in varied crew responsibilities (production assistant, driver, covid assistant). Three years later, he would be accepted into the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) as a Set Production Assistant.
Presently, Jake is enhancing his skill set in the Assistant Director Department throughout Ontario, Canada.
