Leandro Sosa (Argentina, 12/26/1994) is an emerging film director.
In 2016, at the age of 21, he moved to Barcelona to study film with a specialization in script writing, film production and direction.
He made his first short film, "Simbiosis", after finishing his first year. In addition, he launches into the market and soon begins to make commercials, advertisements and video clips for national and international companies and artists. In 2018, Leandro received a talent scholarship and starts working as an intern for Fx Film School.
In 2019, he finished his internship and made his debut work "The Way Back Home", a fiction short film that reached its peak, being selected for the SGAE NOVAS AUTORIAS Sitges Film Festival. Already at the gates of his last year of master's degree, and with several jobs done, Leandro is selected to do a couple of advertisements for Coca-Cola Spicy through its creator, Adriana Chía.
In 2020, he finished his master's degree with a new project on his hands, "Prohibido escapar", a short film about gender-based violence in quarantine that was awarded the best short film award by the Fx jury.
In addition, he is selected to participate in the longest film festival in the world, Cinemadamare, which will already be the 3rd year that he attends. (2022)
He returned to Barcelona and began to post-produce three of them: "Natura", "Argos", and "The Voice of the Ocean".
2021 - 2022: Leandro finishes a short film written by Esmeralda Berbel called ¨El Secreto¨, in addition to making one of his biggest science fiction short films entitled ¨Sensus¨ with Emilio Buale (Protagonist of ¨El Hoyo¨) as the protagonist.
In 2022 Leandro began working as a director and producer at Señora X Productions, focusing on the post-production of both Sensus and The Blank Page (Short film selected for Paus in addition to other mentions), The Lake and Star Jumpers, his last four short films for at the same time that he begins the development of his next short film, ¨Left¨ and his first feature film.
Now in 2023, Leandro works as coordinator of 1st and 2nd year film courses at Fx Film School, as well as being in charge of audiovisual projects for the entire university.
This year he had the opportunity to work with Octocam as a camera assistant in two major shoots; Not Without Hope - Hollywood production directed by Joe Carnahan / Marbella Series - Second season of Movistar +.
However, he continues to work on his personal career as a screenwriter and film director.
