Esther Canata is an international singer/songwriter, recording artist and actress of
stage and screen.
Born and raised in NJ, she began singing in church at 5 years old and performed throughout childhood studying voice, dance and acting. Esther attended the esteemed Somerset County Vocational/Technical gifted and talented program in high school, further advanced her theatrical studies as apprentice actor to the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival and then became a 2nd year alumni of the prestigious William Esper Drama School in NYC where she trained with Vicki Hart and Bill Esper. She attended Bill Esper's 3rd year MasterClass by invitaion only and Shakespeare Intensive as well.
As indie-film actress she can be seen in a starring roles in American Mummy, opposite Michael Madsen in Hired Gun, Metro, Slammed and with Drea De Matteo in "Love,Rome".
Notable stage credits include Othello and CowBoy Mouth at The New Jersey Shakespeare Festival , Mark Weiser's rock opera The Cure at infamous NYC Club Limelight, award winning Disassembly by Steve Yockey at Theatre of Note in Hollywood and various works at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. She has trained alongside and appeared in stage productions opposite the likes of Peter Dinklage, David Harbour and Drea Dematteo and is a member of Theatre of Note in Hollywood.
Esther is a long term member of ASCAP, shared a publishing deal w/ BMG music, licenses her music to Film/TV soundtracks w/ Warner Bros, Miramax, Lifetime, SyFy and Netflix etc. and has performed globally in different genres ranging from neo-soul, electronica, pop rock and house music. She is front woman of cinematic, electronic-pop duo, LionGale, w/composer/producer Lionel Cohen. Esther has graced the stages of famous venues from NYC to LA to Europe such as Joe's Pub, The Cutting Room, The Whiskey GoGo, The Knitting Factory ,The House of Blues,The Viper Room, The Roxy, and The Lovestock Festival and was a contestant on Fuse Tv's , Redemption Song. She has collaborated with award winning producers such as Jimmy Harry, Tommy Coster, Frederik Weidmann, Peter Michael Escovedom, Lionel Cohen, Angelo Milli, Lucas Vidal, Andy Heard , Anthony Krizan, Skully, David Merige, and Mark Garcia.
