Seductive stills of hers was used for the film Kaamaagni. This angered her as she was not in the film.

Now known as Alka Noopur Varshney. She is married to Banwari Lal Varshney. Alka now runs kathak dance lessons at DLF Phase 3 in Delhi. She runs the school with her partner Deepa Jain Mundra.

Alka was initiated into Kathak dance by Rani Kama. Later on she studied under Birju Maharaj. She was the recipient of the government of India scholarship to further her studies in Kathak dance. She has given many solo dance recitals. She was offered roles in films due to her dancing abilities. She now lives in Delhi.
