François-Régis Jeanne got his start by interviewing directors for TV (Sophia Coppola, Spike Lee, William Friedkin, Barry Levinson, Olivier Stone) He then directed a series of documentaries on French filmmakers like Michel Audiard, Francis Veber, Jean-Jacques Annaud, Fred Cavayé and Olivier Marchal "Who wants to frame Olivier Marchal?" ("deserves a Cesar award" according to JDD), the public acclaimed documentary "Looking for Istanbul" with and produced by Eric Cantona and the cult "Fucking Kassoviz", considered as a milestone on the differences between French and American cultures of movie-making.
After studying screenwriting in UCLA, he developed long feature projects each time in a different "genre".
