Mustafa Bhagat (ACE) is an Emmy award winning producer, editor and verité cinematographer. He is best known for his work with Anthony Bourdain as co-producer and editor for all his documentary projects throughout the last 13 years. The "Senegal" episode of Parts Unknown garnered Mustafa an ACE editing award in 2017 and the "Kenya" episode with W. Kamau Bell won an Emmy for writing in 2019. Mustafa's passion for culture, travel, food and music permeates all his work. During his time as senior editor on the PBS documentary series "Mind of a Chef" (2016 Emmy winner: Outstanding Achievement in Editing), Mustafa helped create the style of that series from the ground up. On the Netflix series Business of Drugs (2020) he came on board during the development stage and stayed on as lead editor through post production. A technologist at heart, Mustafa has harnessed the latest technology to develop and implement remote workflows for production and post production since 2008. Since 2020 he has overseen all remote production for Flicker Filmworks including the documentary "Business Unusual", a virtual concert for the movie "Clouds" on Disney+ and Season 2 of "Going From Broke" (2021) - all produced and shot entirely remotely. Beginning in July 2021, Mustafa is producing and editing "Nomad" for CNN (2022 release).
Mustafa runs his production company, Flicker Filmworks with his partner Laura deNey in the Hudson Valley of New York. When not making films he can be found strumming sweet melodies on his sitar.
