He pursued his B.Tech degree at Gokaraju Rangaraju College of Engineering in Hyderabad. His mother, Dr. Padmini Nagulapalli, is an educationalist and child and women's rights activist, having served as the vice president at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Hyderabad. His father is a former central government employee. Maanas married Srija Nissankara on 22 November 2023.
