Lemar, is a British singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. He has released 7 studio albums, three of which are certified platinum or double platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Lemar has won numerous music awards including 2 x Brit Awards for Best Urban Act in 2004 and 2006 and 3 x Mobo Award for Best Album, Best Male and UK Act Of The Year in 2005 and 2006.
Lemar appeared in the 2004 musical biopic - De-Lovely (2004). Directed by Irwin Winkler and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the screenplay by Jay Cocks is based on the life and career of Cole Porter played by Kevin Kline , from his first meeting with his wife, Linda Lee Thomas played by Ashley Judd, until his death. It is the second biopic about the composer, following 1946's Night and Day (1946) Night and Day. Lemar also performs on De-Lovely (2004) singing "What is This Thing Called Love?".
Lemar appeared in the 2022 mini-series Little Darlings (2022). An adaptation of the bestselling children's book of the same name by renowned author Dame Jacqueline Wilson. Little Darlings offers Jacqueline Wilson fans a fresh take on a much loved book, adapted for screen by Nathan Bryon and Jonny Wright.
Lemar appears as Lord Smythe-Smith in episode 5 of the 2023 TV-Series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023). Created by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Tom Verica, the series is a prequel spin-off of the Netflix series Bridgerton (2020) that focuses on young Queen Charlotte's rise to prominence and power.
