Karina Korenblum
- Additional Crew
versatile, driven, and goal-oriented sales executive with a true passion for cinema and 20 years of experience in the independent film industry and international distribution.
Recognized as a talented negotiator with a strong commercial acumen, I have extensive experience in the film acquisition; cinema distribution and exhibition; and the expansion of video on demand (VoD) market in multiple countries.
I am a strong communicator with an ability to foster excellent relationships throughout an extensive professional network of global distributors.
=========== Career Snapshot:
I began my career in the world of cinema in Paris, at the prestigious production company Celluloid Dreams where I worked as a sales agent, managing films from directors such as Francois Ozon, Takeshi Kitano, and Ray Lawrence, among others. In 2007, I moved to Berlin, where I became the acquisitions director of the EEAP group responsible for the acquisitions for Eastern Europe. While there, I managed to successfully consolidate a market focused on a high commercial profile and excellent quality with the purchase of films such as Shutter Island by Martin Scorsese, and The Reader by Stephen Daldry.
Afterwards, I moved to Prague as Head of Sales & Acquisitions for US company GrandView Castle. In that role, I discovered and acquired projects on script basis as well as finished films for the Eastern European market. I also oversaw all distribution in Theatrical, VOD, and DVD, in addition to negotiating TV sales in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and former Yugoslavia. In my current role with Cercamon as Head of Sales & Acquisitions, I am accountable for identifying, vetting, and acquiring niche projects in global markets.
