Franklin J. Anderson is a native of Houston, Texas, where he was born
in 1954. He started his acting career by accident while doing social
work internship at a local community center. Franklin was plugged into
a skit done by the artistic director of that community center when one
of the lead actors didn't show up. Franklin's performance led to an
invitation to audition for a play called the Diary of Black Men which
went on to tour nationally including a stint on Broadway in which Mr.
Anderson co-starred. He has also toured nationally with the play Camp
Logan. In addition to the movies listed here in the filmography, Mr.
Anderson has written several screenplays including the soon to be
released horror film, Street Tales of Terror (co-written with J.D.
Hawkins and Cory Shields), due in video stores the fall of 2004.
Franklin is divorced with three children, Aziza, Christina and Franklin
Jr. He is a graduate of the University of Houston where he currently
teaches The African-American Experience Through Theatre.
