- James is the singer/guitarist for the rock band "Saturday Action Theatre". Their debut CD "Remakes & Sequels" was released in August of 2004.
- James was a member of the rock band "Odlid!" from 1994-1998. They released one full-length album, "Haywood's Mayhem" in 1996, and appeared on numerous compilations.
- Won an Illinois State Young Author Award in 1987 for his short story "The Little Champ."
- James was a contestant in the 2nd Season of Project Greenlight. His Directorial submission "Stranded at the Terrace" aka "Ruse" made it into the second round.
- Although he never appeared on the show, footage of James was used in several commercials for the Fuse Network's "Ultimate Gig: The VJ Search."
- Made his acting debut at age 9 in a parody of the Chicago Bears "Superbowl Shuffle" as "Little Jimmy McMahon."
- Contributed the song "Burkittsville (Take a walk with me)" to Artisan Entertainment and the defunct IAM.com's "Witchmix" on-line soundtrack for the ill-fated "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2". The song was featured on the film's official website.
- The first band he interviewed on television was Faith No More in the summer of 1992. James was only 15 years old. Between '92 and '94, Zahn shared the screen with Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, in addition to White Zombie, Stone Temple Pilots, and many others.
- Launched "Death Walks the Streets: The Comic Book" at the 2nd Largest Pop-Culture Event in the Nation - Wizard World Chicago in Rosemont, Illinois. (June 2008)
