Dave Corwin Polcino produced the multi-award winning Lovesick Fool: Love In The Age of Like, starring Lisa Kudrow, Janeane Garofalo and Fred Willard. He also produced Near Myth: The Oskar Knight Story, starring Lenny von Dohlen, Margaret O' Brien, Joaquim de Almeida, Kristina Anapau, Lawrence Pressman, Rudolf Martin and Randall Batinkoff. His recent short films, One Rose and Apollumi have won Best Of Show at the LACC Film Fest and Best Screenplay and Best Sound at The Glendale Film Festival, respectively. Dave tends to act in his own pieces, playing many characters in Lovesick Fool and the leads in his recent short films. His Myth Busters spoof aired on The Discovery Channel, where Dave played both roles.
Residing in Hollywood, CA, Dave produces, directs, films, acts, edits, sound engineers and creates visual effects, as an individual, and through his company, Noise & Vision, which recently did visual effects on a George Clinton video, featuring Kendrick Lamar and Ice Cube.
Dave attended Upright Citizens Brigade. His acting teachers include Sydney Walsh, Aaron Ganz, Daphne Kirby, Mike Pointer, Sean Dougherty, Carrie Dobro, Kennedy Brown, Will McLaughlin, Billy Cowart, Jacquie Lowell, Carolyne Barry and Bobbie Chance. His field of study is Meisner technique with a healthy side of Stanislavsky.
In 1990, Dave started his media and game production company, Digital Complete. In the years that followed, he taught and designed the entertainment media courses at the art school, Platt College. He also created and taught similar classes at the University of California, San Diego. He went on to become the Supervising Animatics Editor at Film Roman, the production house for Family Guy, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Mission Hill.
Acting as copy writer and editor, Dave is credited in Tony Robbins' book Awaken The Giant Within. He has also recorded and edited many other well-known motivational speakers, including Wayne Dyer, T. Harv Eker and Robert Allen. He founded the first magazine on CD-ROM, Rombus. Dave programmed, did sound, music and animation on four game titles for Broderbund Entertainment. He designed websites and multimedia programs for clients including the Al Gore campaign, Union Bankers, Disney, Nike, Kraft and Tyco RC. He worked on visual effects for Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno and animated his company logo, Four by Two Films, which appears in the beginning credits of both Bruno and The Dictator.
All the while, Dave still kept his hat in the world of rock and roll as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, engineer and music producer. After his music scholarship to California State Northridge, Dave started playing live shows. He opened for Billy Preston at the Rebuild LA benefit concert, performed at the San Diego Sports Arena Playskool event, had regular shows with his band at some of the most well-known clubs on the west coast, including The Roxy, The Whiskey A Go Go, The Troubadour and many others. He's released two well-received solo albums and has composed original music for independent films, commercials and television series, including a Warner Brothers DARE film, Family Guy, Blue Tax commercials, Lovesick Fool and Near Myth: The Oskar Knight Story.
