Nigerian-American actor, Chet Anekwe, plays Efe Omowale on Tyler Perry's Assisted Living. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, raised in Jamaica Queens NYC, he now calls Los Angeles home. His work spans Hollywood, Nigerian cinema and New York theater. He can also be seen in episodes of "How to Get Away With Murder" with Viola Davis,"The Affair" with Dominic West.
Chet has been nominated for and won various awards for his performances. Nominated for Best Actor, Viv Audelco Award (1997) for playing Joseph Cinque in the theater production of "Chap Am So (The Amistad Story)". He and the cast of "Real Black Men Don't Sit Crossed Legged On The Floor" won the Viv Award (2006) for Best Ensemble cast. He was also a Best Actor nominee at the African Movie Academy Awards (2012) for Unwanted Guest.
