Eve Gabereau is the founder and CEO of Modern Films Entertainment, a London-based, female-led, social issues-driven distribution, production and event cinema company.
They launched in 2017 with the release of Manifesto starring Cate Blanchett in 13 different roles and Executive Production on I Am Not a Witch that went on to garner three British Independent Film Awards, a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut, an Independent Spirit Award nomination and the UK entry for the 91st Academy Awards. Key films on their slate include Skate Kitchen (directed by Crystal Moselle), 3 Days in Quiberon (directed by Emily Atef) and Happy as Lazzaro (directed by Alice Rohrwacher), as well as documentaries The Rape of Recy Taylor (directed by Nancy Buirski) and Boom for Real: the Late Teenage Years of Jean-Michel Basquiat (directed by Sara Driver).
Prior to Modern Films, Gabereau co-founded the indie film company Soda Pictures in 2002 and ran it as co-Managing Director for 15 years. They built up a library of over 300 titles, including the critically acclaimed Paterson directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Adam Driver and German sensation Toni Erdmann. In 2014, it was announced that they had merged with the media group Thunderbird Films, the company behind the Netflix Original series Beat Bugs and Executive Producers of Blade Runner 2049. Originally from Canada, she also holds a French passport and has lived in the UK since 1998.
