Bruce and I worked on a BBC music series,"Under African Skies" -n Mali, Ethiopia and Algeria. WE used a Neve suitcase mixer and 2 stereo Nagras, to record the live music.
Most of the mics where AKG 414 but we had a stereo Numan rsm191 and my Sennheiser 411 which we used for brass and sax.
The conditions where challenging, and on the way back from a small town near Timbuktu the camera car hit a cow at night and turned over, no one was seriously hurt, but the band we where recording turned up and seeing the dead cow where overjoyed, and butchered it there and shared it around.
