Mumbai, Feb 15 (Ians) The impact of some films is so huge that it lingers on your mind for the longest time and it also shakes you up to the core.
The story of good versus evil is centuries old, but it takes a contemporary turn in ‘Dashmi’ and raises many important and pertinent questions that we have now habitually ignore in the most casual manner. ‘Dashmi’ is like a mirror to the society, showing up its ugliest face and calling for change.
The news of minors being raped in our society has become so common these days that slowly as a society we are becoming numb and indifferent to such crimes. What is the solution when the law is unable to catch hold of such criminals and the accused roam free carrying on their day-to-day work and looking for more prey in the future?

Rana Naidu is a Netflix series directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma starring Venkatesh Daggubati and Rana Daggubati.
Rana Naidu is a fun action, comedy and drama series… very colourful, entertaining, and, above all, vibrant and lively, very much in the Bollywood style that we love so much.
Ten episodes for you to enjoy this attractive cocktail which nothing is missing from to create pure entertainment… Bollywood style.
About the Series
A very well-curated thriller on the aesthetic, photographic and editing level. It is quite far removed from the recent crop of Indian series that the streaming network has offered us: greater quality in the choice of shots, plot, and, most of all, at the level of editing and sound effects.
Rana Naidu is a series that reunites us again with the best Bollywood: the one that knows how to create an explosive cocktail and will always surprise us with ideas,...

There has been a dearth of rom coms lately. Moreso, post pandemic with the advent of the Ott platforms with unique subjects and genres from across the globe. Even the filmmakers who used to dish out content of this genre have moved on and it is not just the actors. What could an actor do if one is not offered such films!! It appears that Luv Ranjan has become the flag bearer for making light-hearted comedies with a sprinkle of romance. Someone rightly pointed that the industry sure must have romantic scripts doing rounds, but one film needs to click majorly to turn the tide. The actors need to turn their gaze and put their faith in voices of the new filmmakers and writers who have a story to tell. But the point is who’s going to bet on them if the producers no more think rom com as a safe bet!

Chhorii(Amazon Prime Video)
Starring Nushrratt Bharuccha, Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais, Saurabh Goyal
Directed by Vishal Furia
Chhorri ke peeche kya hai???!!!! An urgent message on female foeticide is tucked away in the ghagra folds of this unusual flawed yet interesting shiver-giver. Almost the entire film is set in deserted yawning stretch of a sugarcane field where the silences are punctured by eerie sounds of little children with big wide eyes playing and laughing in a deceptive show of normalcy.
As this low-budget mayhem-drama tells us, quiet places secrete deep disturbances. Right. But we don’t really get to penetrate the heart of the horror. Director Vishal Furia’s faithful adaptation of the Marathi film Lapachhapi is unable to convey the fearful ambience of the original.
Yes, there is plenty of atmospheric pressure in Chhorri. But most of the jumpscare moments are reserved for the last half an hour when...
