Andy Samberg praised Amy Adams during a recent episode of the “The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers” podcast (via Entertainment Weekly) for rejecting the comedy group’s pitch for her to star in a raunchy “Saturday Night Live” digital short. Adams was hosting “SNL” in 2008, a year after winning raves for her leading turn in Disney’s “Enchanted.” Samberg remembered the actor being loyal to her Disney fans, so much so that she had to protect them from The Lonely Island’s “very dirty” sketch pitch.
“I’m not gonna go into great detail about it, but it was a song that would have been a duet with me and Amy Adams, and it was very dirty,” Samberg said of the lost sketch. “It was basically like we were both really old and we were having a picnic, old people couple, and one of us gets stung by a scorpion.

Amy Adams was the hero during one particular Saturday Night Live episode.
While speaking on a recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers rewatch podcast, Andy Samberg — one-third of the trio that also includes Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone — recalled a behind-the-scenes moment where the Nightbitch actress declined to film a short that might have been upsetting to some young fans of Enchanted.

I continue to be surprised at just how well the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has done. Sure, the series didn’t get off to the best start with the Sonic who emerged from the depths of hell, but the production was able to turn things around and deliver two very successful films (plus a Knuckles TV series) with a third on the way. Speaking of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the upcoming sequel will bring Shadow into the series, and he’ll be voiced by none other than Keanu Reeves.
During a Q&a for Sonic Revolution’s Shadow Revolution stream, director Jeff Fowler had nothing but praise for Reeves’ work on the film, adding that he did his homework and came very prepared. “It’s so awesome that we got Keanu Reeves to voice the character and he was so fantastic to work with,” he said. “He thinks the character...

In retrospect, "Land of the Lost" was probably an unwise investment. Made for somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 million, this Brad Silberling directed adaptation of Sid & Marty Kroft's 1970s Saturday morning adventure series saw a four-quadrant bullseye in appealing to Gen X-er nostalgia, which, presumably, they'd share with their Zoomer children at their neighborhood multiplex. Given the campy nature of the original show, Silberling and the credited screenwriting duo of Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas pitched the film as a zany spoof of its source material, hiring a formidable comedic quartet in Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Jorma Taccone, and Anna Friel (as an incredibly game straight-woman) to, hopefully, deliver loads of yuks as they flee Sleestaks and giant prehistoric beasts.
The film topped out at $69 million during the summer of 2009, which is either a massive commercial disappointment or a bomb depending on your threshold for hyperbole. Regardless of what you call it,...

Michael Keaton is having a big year, thanks to the success of the long-awaited sequel "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice." The film reunited director Tim Burton with the man who created a truly iconic performance out of thin air, and the movie is still making decent money at the box office several weeks after its release. Last weekend, "Beetlejuice 2" managed to sit higher on the box office charts in its sixth week in theaters than the massively panned "Joker: Folie à Deux," which was only in its second weekend. That's some impressive staying power, and it's especially surprising as a follow-up to a beloved 1988 horror comedy that has endured in popularity for decades. It only makes sense that "Beetlejuice" made an appearance in Michael Keaton's season 50 episode of "Saturday Night Live" -- but it wasn't Keaton who suited up in the black and white stripes this time.

Thanks to Andy Samberg’s election season gig (playing Kamala Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff), Saturday Night Live recently aired its first “SNL Digital Short” in six years. The Lonely Island reunion (minus Jorma Taccone) found Samberg and Akiva Schaffer as chain-smoking ‘80s businessmen pitching a “Sushi Glory Hole” to a panel of confused/disgusted executives.
Where did the idea of using a public restroom’s anonymous sex cavity to deliver upscale Japanese seafood come from? On the most recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, Samberg and Schaffer took a break from delving into their back catalog of sketches in order to unpack the recent music video.
According to Samberg, Schaffer randomly said “Sushi Glory Hole” one day, and then just “kept saying it.” So they tried recording a version of the song with a different beat, but it didn’t end up working. Since they liked some of the lines,...

The Lonely Island is back and boy do they have a pitch; just hear them out! It has been more than six years since the comedy group last released one of their famed SNL Digital Shorts, but the boys returned during this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live to drop a new banger…so to speak.
“Sushi Glory Hole” finds Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer entering a meeting with top execs played by Bowen Yang, Maya Rudolph and Kenan Thompson. Their idea? Well, let’s see if these ill rhymes do the trick: You forgot to eat, now you’re out and about but you wanna be discreet / Can’t be eatin’ omakase in the middle of the street / Then you open the app: Sgh is all over the map / So you head to a club, hit the bathroom stall / Find the sushi-size hole in the bathroom wall / Then make a wish,...

The Lonely Island returned to "Saturday Night Live" with a brand new digital short, and it's perfect.
For weird little guys across the world, this is a huge moment. The Lonely Island — made up of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone — used to provide digital shorts nearly every Saturday night during their run on "SNL" (Samberg was a cast member and Schaffer and Taccone worked on the writing team but often appeared in the pre-taped sketches). Samberg left the show in 2012, but the trio — who still work together all the time — kept providing shorts here and there, like "Yolo" in 2013 (with an assist from Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar) and "Natalie's Rap 2," which reunited Schaffer, Samberg, and Taccone with Natalie Portman after their first short together in 2006. The latter was in 2018, so it's been six long years since we all got a Digital Short.

Saturday Night Live‘s golden year is reuniting cast members past for some new laughs.
This weekend, SNL alums and musical comedy trio The Lonely Island made a surprise appearance with their new song ‘Sushi Glory Hole’, the group’s first digital short on the sketch comedy show in six years.
A la 2006’s Emmy-winning “D— in a Box,” the song’s title is pretty self-explanatory, featuring Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg (Jorma Taccone is not featured but is credited as a writer) in their finest Wolf of Wall Street attire, pitching their new concept to a group of investors.

In the first Lonely Island song on “SNL” since 2018, the beloved trio of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer debuted “Sushi Glory Hole,” a humorous take on a fictional app where you can find sushi in a hole in a bathroom around New York.
“SNL” alumna Maya Rudolph, who has been portraying presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris during the new season, was on hand for the video. “Gentleman, what do you have for us today?” she asked in the video opener.
“Sushi glory hole,” rapped Samberg. “Imagine that. Instead of getting strange [expletive] you’ll be getting a snack.” A long refrain of “Hear us out, hear us out, hear us out,” played on loop as the trio tried to get others on board with their idea.
Dressed as 1980s businessmen, the Lonely Island members rapped about sushi in bathrooms, with suggestive lyrics, singing, “So drop to your knees...

Saturday Night Live has delivered a few meta twists to the ends of sketches over the years, such as when Norm Macdonald played a violent, jealous Tommy Lee opposite Pamela Anderson, only to get beaten up by the real violent, jealous Tommy Lee.
Then there was the Trump-era game show “What Even Matters Anymore,” which ends with Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong breaking character to make sure that host Jessica Chastain is doing okay.
But SNL’s most bizarrely random meta twist came at the end of a sketch hardly anybody even remembers.
A 2006 Dane Cook-hosted episode found Cook and Will Forte playing Poland Spring water bottle delivery men, who have, for some reason, drunk their entire supply. When they get a visit from a suspicious Poland Spring executive, played by Kristen Wiig, the two dudes try to hide the incriminating empty jugs before she can come in. Cook...

During their time on Saturday Night Live, The Lonely Island weren’t exactly known for being terribly controversial. Sure, the musical comedy trio dropped tracks about sticking your junk inside of a Christmas present, and ejaculating in public, but they also devoted a lot of time to more PG topics like Narnia, Captain Jack Sparrow and the concept of existing on a boat.
But it turns out that the group did occasionally find themselves in hot water with the NBC brass. In the most recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, a listener sent in a question inquiring about the “most trouble the Lonely Island got in during their tenure at SNL.”
While they didn’t get in trouble exactly, Jorma Taccone did describe how, after they “spent a lot of money” on the Digital Short “I Wish it Would Rain,” he received “a very sarcastic response...

One of the most memorably brilliant creative choices behind the MacGruber movie was the casting of Val Kilmer as the dastardly Dieter von Cunth. Not only is Kilmer an icon of ‘80s and ‘90s action movies, but as Airplane! proved, putting dramatic actors in absurd roles is often way funnier.
But Kilmer wasn’t the only name that was floated for the awkwardly-named villain. Apparently MacGruber came very close to battling the legendary actor who faced off against Batman, Adam Sandler and his own wife and child after a few stiff drinks served by a ghost: Jack Nicholson.
In the most recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, the trio discussed their work on “People Getting Punched Right Before Eating.” It wasn’t a metaphor or anything, it was literally about people getting punched right before eating.

Rapper Kanye West provided quite the entry into pop culture history when he stepped onto the stage of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to interrupt pop star Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video. In the infamous moment, West spoke into the microphone with Swift still on stage next to him, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!" It sparked outrage and memes, and it wouldn't even be the most ludicrous or rude thing West would do in his career. However, perhaps we shouldn't have been surprised -- because "Saturday Night Live" saw this coming nearly two years before the incident.

Who hasn’t wanted to turn into a snarling, free-wheeling beast when the pressures of domestic life — hell, of life in general — get too much? Women have transformed into beasts throughout mythological history, but that wasn’t always a matter of choice. In Rachel Yoder’s bestselling 2021 novel, “Nightbitch,” that line is a bit fuzzier. Does our heroine become a dog because she wants to or because she has to?
That’s just one of the questions at the heart of filmmaker Marielle Heller’s latest film, which adapts Yoder’s story to the big screen. Like her breakout hit “The Diary of a Teenage Girl,” her fact-based grifter tale “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” and her deep-feeling Mr. Rogers-centric feature “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” Heller’s latest explores the different facets of being a very real person in a very tough world. Sometimes that includes turning into a dog.

The Variety and Chanel Female Filmmakers Dinner brought together an A-list lineup of Hollywood stars and creatives including Andrew Garfield, Elizabeth Olsen, “Nightbitch” director Marielle Heller (who attended this event mere moments before her film’s premiere), Danielle Deadwyler, Barry Keoghan and more for a vibrant night amidst the Toronto Film Festival. This week’s episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast found the former Saturday Night Live performers discussing the digital short “Iran So Far,” which involved Andy Samberg crooning about then-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — with some help from Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and an Aphex Twin sample that the show reportedly didn’t secure the rights to before air time. “It cost NBC, I think, $160,000,” Jorma Taccone confessed during the podcast.
Much of their discussion was devoted to the episode’s guests: host LeBron James and musical guest Ye (“Kanye West” back then). While Meyers called LeBron a “full delight” and a “genuine, fantastic human being to spend time with,” everyone’s feelings around Kanye were a tad more complicated.

The Lonely Island made a name for themselves on "Saturday Night Live" by ushering in the SNL Digital Short era of the late night sketch comedy series. Once the breakout music video for "Lazy Sunday" became one of the earliest viral videos on YouTube (long before "SNL" sketches were officially uploaded to the video website), The Lonely Island felt the pressure of delivering hilarious pre-recorded bits almost every single week during their time on the show.
It should comes no surprise that their most successful bits were various music videos, often featuring rap or R&b tunes with a comedic touch. This ranges from raunchy holiday fare like "D**k in a Box" with Justin Timberlake to the movie-fueled "Jack Sparrow" featuring "Office Space" punchline Michael Bolton as a major cinephile, the latter of which is Andy Samberg's favorite, as confirmed in a recent episode of The Lonely Island and...

There's been chatter about this sneak peek being released online for months, but the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has raced online today and it was most definitely worth the wait!
In the preview, the franchise's heroes find themselves outmatched when Keanu Reeves' Shadow the Hedgehog is unleashed.
That forces Sonic and his pals to turn to his greatest enemy, Doctor Robotnik, for help. They team up to take Shadow down in what looks set to be an epic conclusion to this trilogy, though we're sure the villain can't be trusted. The sneak peek ends with Sonic and Shadow about to square off, though be sure to stick around after the title card to see Jim Carrey pulling double duty as Eggman...and his grandpa!
This movie looks like great fun and it's hard to believe it wasn't that long ago when Paramount horrified fans with a redesigned Sonic.

"Saturday Night Live" is a crapshoot with each new episode. Regardless of what certain highfalutin comedy connoisseurs might try to say about "SNL" not being funny anymore, every single golden age of the series (and there have been several) has to contend with the fact that each episode will have good sketches and bad sketches. Honestly, if 50% of an episode of "SNL" is good, that's a victory. We're talking about a live sketch comedy show that's written, developed, shot (for pre-tapes), and aired within the span of a single week, from inception to building sets to creating costumes and everything that a normal TV show has to do -- but in one of the most truncated windows imaginable. That's what makes "SNL" such a high-stress environment, and why it's one of the hardest gigs in show business.

"Hot Rod" is one of those movies that really has come into its own since its original release. The movie served as the cinematic coming out party for The Lonely Island, aka Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer. Unfortunately, it was something of a flop when Paramount Pictures released it in the summer of 2007. But audiences have since allowed it to achieve cult status, embracing its many outlandish jokes, elaborate comedic set pieces, and hidden gags. The story of one of those hidden gags is, as it turns out, infinitely better than the gag itself.
On a recent two-part episode of "The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast," the gang broke down "Hot Rod" in great detail. Two of the best pop culture fixtures of the aughts briefly collided behind the scenes, according to "The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast." In a recent episode of the endlessly delightful Lonely Island retrospective project, host Meyers and "Saturday Night Live" digital short mainstays Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone shared a surprising behind-the-scenes moment from Schaffer's cult favorite comedy "Hot Rod," and it featured none other than prolific "Deadwood" pottymouth Al Swearengen.
In case you haven't rewatched "Hot Rod" lately, it's worth noting that "Deadwood" star Ian McShane plays the bullying stepfather to stuntman Rod (Samberg), and his antagonism is one of the major driving forces of the surreal and silly movie. "Hot Rod" came out in 2007, but it filmed a year earlier, apparently before "Deadwood" had wrapped filming on its third and final season. On that show, McShane put in an awards-worthy performance as the irascible Swearengen,...

Andy Samberg first joined Saturday Night Live in 2005. Seven years later in 2012, the comedian and actor decided to leave, for reasons he recently revealed to be to preserve his physical and mental health. In an interview in the fourth season of Kevin Hart‘s Peacock show Hart to Heart, Samberg explained why he felt he had little to no choice but to leave the comedy show. “For me, it was like I can’t actually endure it anymore, physically and emotionally,” he said. “I was falling apart in my life.” “Like you hit a wall,” Samberg continued. “We’re not built to operate that way.” SNL, known for its taxing hours and quick turnaround demanded of its players, required Samberg to both write for the live show and produce weekly digital shorts with his trio known as The Lonely Island. With fellow members Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, Samberg created...

Andy Samberg knew it was time.
In an interview on Kevin Hart’s Peacock show, Hart to Heart, Samberg said that he left Saturday Night Live in 2012 to preserve his physical and mental health.
“For me, it was like I can’t actually endure it anymore,” he said. “Physically and emotionally. I was falling apart in my life.”
The intense schedule of SNL was to blame. Long hours to write for the live show while making new digital shorts weekly was too much.
“Physically, it was taking a heavy toll on me, and I got to a place where I hadn’t slept in seven years,” he said. “…It’s basically like four days a week you’re not sleeping, for seven years. I just kind of fell apart physically.”

America’s use of “enhanced interrogation techniques,” such as sleep deprivation and the confinement box, drew heavy criticism during the War on Terror in the mid-2000s, but no one ever talks about the simultaneous inhumanity of the Dick in the Box.
Given the frantic turnaround time of the comedy television institution, it’s never a surprise when a star on Saturday Night Live has to take a step back from the show because they can’t keep up with the brutal schedule. Everyone who voluntarily leaves SNL will, at some point, talk about the all-nighters and the dread-inspiring deadlines as a factor in their departure, whether they were an actor, writer, producer or some combination of the three.
However, within that notorious six-day workweek, not everyone at SNL suffers the exact same degree of sleep deprivation and over-extension, and those few lucky creatives who fill multiple roles on the...

Andy Samberg is detailing his “Saturday Night Live” exit more than a decade later.
The sketch series staple joined the ensemble cast of the show in 2005. He exited in 2012 after seven years on the show. While Samberg admitted leaving was “a big choice,” he couldn’t “endure it anymore” due to the grueling work schedule.
“I was falling apart in my life,” he said during Kevin Hart‘s Peacock talk show “Hart to Heart” (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Physically, it was taking a heavy toll on me, and I got to a place where I … hadn’t slept in seven years, basically. We were writing stuff for the live show Tuesday night all night, the table read Wednesday, then being told, ‘Now come up with a digital short,’ so write all Thursday, all Thursday night, don’t sleep, get up, shoot Friday, edit all night Friday night and into Saturday.

Andy Samberg was a recent guest on Kevin Hart‘s Peacock interview series “Hart to Heart” and got honest about his exit from “Saturday Night Live” 12 years ago. The comedian was one of the sketch comedy show’s biggest stars during his tenure, which ran from 2005 to 2012.
Alongside his Lonely Island members Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, Samberg turned digital shorts into one of “SNL’s” most popular and viral segments through such iconic videos as “Dick in a Box” and “Natalie Rap.” However, Samberg told Hart that “I was falling apart in my life” behind the scenes come 2012 and he couldn’t “endure it anymore.”

Andy Samberg is looking back on walking away from Saturday Night Live.
While appearing on Kevin Hart’s Peacock interview series Hart to Heart, the comedian recalled why he made the decision to quietly exit the comedy sketch series after seven seasons back in 2012.
“I was falling apart in my life,” he said, opening up about the exit all these years later. He called the decision to leave “a big choice” and though he didn’t want to leave, he couldn’t “endure it anymore.”
Samberg joined SNL in 2005. After seven years, his contract was up and he decided not to return after the 2011-2012 season wrapped, officially announcing his decision weeks after the finale.

"Saturday Night Live" is a comedy institution that has been on the air for nearly a half-century. Soon, the series will be celebrating its milestone 50th season, which will include a star-studded anniversary celebration coming to NBC in February 2025. Even if you're one of those people who (wrongly) tells people that "SNL" isn't funny anymore, you can't deny that the late night sketch comedy series has cultivated some of the most brilliant comedic minds in modern Hollywood history -- whether it's the rough edges of live TV comedy innovation that came with the likes of Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Bill Murray, and Gilda Radner in the 1970s or the off-kilter shenanigans of Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, and Adam Sandler in the '90s. (Even the troublesome 1980s years under the supervision of producer Dick Ebersol gave us Eddie Murphy and Martin Short.)

When you’re lucky enough to have a viral hit song, and it happens to be with a pop music superstar, and then you get a chance to perform it at Madison Square Garden … and you utterly blow it.
It’s a story Andy Samberg just told on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast on Monday.
The song was “Dick in a Box,” the risqué 1990s R&b parody that premiered on Saturday Night Live in 2006 as a digital short (along with 16 bleeps) and later racked up 28 million views on YouTube (the original is below). The song was written by The Lonely Island (Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone) and songwriter Katreese Barnes, along with that week’s SNL host, Justin Timberlake, spoofing his Nsync past.
Samberg eventually got the opportunity to perform the song with Timberlake at a show in New York, and that’s where things went wrong.

One of the most memorable SNL “Digital Shorts” found Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake singing about celebrating Christmas — not to mention Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and “every single holiday” — by gifting women their junk wrapped up in festive parcels.
“Dick in a Box” aired nearly 20 years ago, back in 2006, which was such a long time ago, apparently you couldn’t even say the word “Dick” on television without being bleeped?
The song proved so successful that Samberg and Timberlake revived the characters for the latter’s concert at Madison Square Garden in 2007, performing “Dick in a Box” for a sold-out crowd that included future President Donald Trump and Diddy. In retrospect, it’s pretty wild that the characters crooning about surprising people with their genitals were less creepy than some audience members.
So where did the idea for “Dick in a Box” come from? In a recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast,...

We're still waiting on the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (it was first rumoured to be on the way a couple of months ago), but new merchandise packaging first shared on GameFragger.com has today revealed a long-awaited first look at Shadow.
A few shadowy - no pun intended - glimpses have found their way online before now, but this serves as the most detailed shot of the villain-turned-anti-hero yet. Some minor cosmetic changes have been made since his debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 but Shadow looks suitably formidable.
Idris Elba's Knuckles was a hit and took centre stage in a Parmount+ spin-off TV series earlier this year. If Shadow strikes a similar chord with fans of the hit Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, we'd imagine he'll get something similar (though a big screen outing might be more likely in his case).

There have been rumors that Sony Pictures might be developing a live-action Miles Morales movie since the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film swung into theatres in 2019, and last year, former studio head Amy Pascal appeared to confirm that tentative plans were in place.
“You’ll see all of it,” Pascal said when asked about the prospect of Miles making the jump to live-action during a red-carpet interview. “It’s all happening.”
Nothing particularly concrete, but rumors have persisted, and Sony was said to be interested in fast-tracking a Morales feature after the massive success of Into the Spider-Verse sequel, Across the Spider-Verse. Now, it seems we finally have some movement on the project.
According to reliable insider Jeff Sneider on this week's episode of The Hot Mic, the studio is in the process of casting an actor to play Miles in live action. He doesn't mention any potential contenders for the role,...

One of the most beloved characters to ever come out of a Saturday Night Live sketch is MacGruber, played by Will Forte, who went on to appear in his own movie, streaming TV show and several rejected Super Bowl commercials for a soda company we won’t name, but let’s just say it rhymes with “Schmepsi.”
But as hard as it may be to believe, the MacGyver parody wasn’t written for Forte. In fact, it was first conceived of by SNL writer and Lonely Islander Jorma Taccone for one of SNL’s high-profile celebrity guests: the less-than-hilarious Lance Armstrong. In retrospect, missing out on the chance to play MacGruber probably doesn’t even crack the top 50,000 Lance Amrstrong career missteps.
According to Taccone, he originally pitched a sketch in which “Lance Armstrong would play MacGyver’s stepbrother MacGruber.” Unlike his famous relative, MacGruber would defuse bombs, not with paper clips and chewing gum,...

Seth Meyers’ comedy style and tastes have changed in the past decade, or at least since he created adult animated series “The Awesomes.”
The late night host said during his podcast “The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast” with fellow “SNL” alums Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone that “The Awesomes” was unnecessarily R-rated.
The Hulu series, which was co-created by Meyers and Michael Shoemaker and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, ran for 30 episodes from 2013 to 2015. The show satirized the superhero world and starred Meyers, Bill Hader, Rashida Jones, Ike Barinholtz, Steve Higgins, Bobby Lee, Kenan Thompson, and Paula Pell, among a slew of guest stars.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 wrapped up with a major Shadow tease and, last month, we learned that Keanu Reeves will lend his voice to the character (making countless fan casts a reality in the process).
Today, a first look at the villain-turned-anti-hero has been revealed (via SFFGazette.com) thanks to a promo banner for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The titular character is shown alongside Tails and Knuckles, with Shadow looming large in the background.
We'd hoped a trailer might be released alongside If when that opened in theaters last weekend; sadly, there was no sign of Sonic, so we're hoping the sneak peek races online sooner rather than later.
Shadow the Hedgehog debuted in 2001's Sonic Adventure 2. Created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, Shadow was designed as the Ultimate Life Form, with abilities surpassing those of Sonic. His creation aimed to unlock the secrets of immortality...

Hulu comedy head Billy Rosenberg is exiting the streamer after more than seven years. Rosenberg, who most recently served as senior VP of comedy for Hulu Originals, has not yet been replaced.
Rosenberg’s tenure at Hulu came with the elevation of the streamer’s comedy brand, as he developed hits including “Pen15,” “Ramy,” “Only Murders In The Building,” “Pam & Tommy,” “This Fool” and “Solar Opposites.”
He initially joined as director of comedy at Hulu Originals. Prior to being tapped by Hulu, Rosenberg ran The Lonely Island’s comedy Party Over Here, as head of development and production. Working closely with Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone for two years, the television and film producer executive produced a number of pilot presentations under their Fox deal. He also produced the feature film “Brigsby Bear” with then-“Saturday Night Live” cast member Kyle Mooney, and collaborated with Joe Swanberg on his Netflix series “Easy.

Kung Fury— a 2015 English-language Swedish martial arts comedy film— is weirdly entertaining, the average critics’ consensus certified the movie fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 86% score. Also, fans have showered their love for the David Sandberg (not to be confused with Shazam! director) written and directed movie.
Jorma Taccone as Adolf Hitler in Kung Fury
As the movie claimed the astounding accolades, there was inherently another installment in the making. The sequel of the Sandberg-led movie who played the title character, also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, Kung Fury 2 has never seen the light of day. Jorma Taccone played the notorious historical figure, Adolf Hitler and the actor was heartbroken as the movie was hidden from the public forever.

Steve Martin’s 2006 Saturday Night Live hosting assignment still stands out for Seth Meyers, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. But not for the right reasons.
On Monday’s April 29 episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, the team talked about the surfer sketch they worked on for Martin.
Meyers said he thinks about it “all the time, mostly because every time I see Steve Martin, he brings it up.”
He asked his co-hosts to explain the sketch, “Surf meeting,” noting, “You guys wrote it.”
“‘Surf meeting’ was a classic format for us, which was one person sucking and not being able to take a hit over and over and over again, like way too many times,” said Samberg. In the sketch, Samberg asks Martin’s character, who’s “in an old-timey bathing suit looking super dorkish,” to leave.
“It was making us laugh so hard when we were writing it,...
