Tom Antos is a director, cinematographer and visual effects artist -
all rolled into one. He has directed numerous films and music videos.
In addition, Tom has worked as a visual effects artist and animator since
the mid 1990's. This work has earned him several awards,
including Telly, Promax BDA and Worldfest Gold Remi. Tom's professional
experience ranges from large Hollywood productions like "Bait" and
"Everyone's Hero" to small budget DIY projects. Plus more recent projects like
Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the new animated and
live action SpongeBob film Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie
and also Monster High: The Movie.
Tom was born in Krakow, Poland. His parents immigrated to Canada in late 80's and eventually Tom and his brother Lukasz joined them. In Canada Tom grew up interested in various arts, especially painting and drawing. He won several art awards for his drawings which eventually lead to his interest in animation. Upon completing high school, Tom secured a job as an animator. Over the next 4 years Tom advanced to a senior animator position and eventually a special effects supervisor. Several years later Tom transitioned to directing TV commercials and music videos with his brother Lukasz as the producer. Eventually Tom moved to the United States where he started writing and directing his own films. He is now married with kids and owns a production company.
Tom has been sharing his filmmaking experience and knowledge through online tutorials that have gained a large and loyal audience on YouTube. His tutorials have been seen over 100 million times on YouTube alone, and his combined YouTube channels have over 350,000 subscribers and 250 million views. Tom's tutorials have been featured in many filmmaking communities, including the Indy Mogul, No Film School etc. They have helped a great many indie filmmakers who dare to aim high while working with shoe-string budgets.
