Lindsay is part Australian, part Maori (Polynesian/indigenous New Zealander), and was born on October 18, 1985, in Sydney. His mother (Karen) is Australian and his father (Darren) is Maori. He has three younger half-brothers and an Aboriginal half-sister. He grew up on Australia's Central Coast before moving to Sydney to attend Newtown High School of the Performing Arts.
