Joshua Hilson grew up in NYC part of the art scene with his father being a prominent artist in the abstract expressionist movement. Founding many bands and having a career as a musician touring with bands such as Sebadoh, Hole, Foo fighters and Sonic Youth, he left the music scene to become a sound mixer in the late 90's. Becoming the house mixer at Pianos, NY and engineering for many bands he soon fell in love with the world of onset sound mixing. Answering the call the world of film he left music permanently and became a sound mixer for Film and television. Starting a company which trained mixers, and was a sponsor of the MiNY program, Trytone Sound offered a path for minorities into the professional world of sound mixing. After joining I.A.T.S.E to work directly with the onscreen heroes he loved as a child, Trytone Sound became purely on set sound mixing for film and television, to solely focus on set sound, After Mixing television for a decade, he transitioned to movies where he now dedicates his path. He Lives in Brooklyn NY, and makes records in his spare time to give music back to the world under the moniker Haiku.
