Melanie Martini is a native New Yorker who attended the art+design school at SUNY Purchase College in Westchester County, New York. Concentrating mainly in the areas of graphic design and printmaking at Purchase, and soon discovering motion graphics and animation. Melanie began working in animation, starting with New York City's Tape House Toons, working as an assistant in the art department for the Lizzie Maguire show, Saturday Night Live's TV Funhouse, and various animated show openings, commercials and TV spots.
Melanie continued working in animation as a production assistant and digital artist, first for Cartoon Network on 'Private Eye Princess', and then at Twentieth Century Fox/ Blue Sky Studios for the art department on 'Robots'.
Melanie worked in many areas including digital paint, materials creating original patterns to be used on the film's environments and characters, licensing & merchandising, technical assistance in the lighting department, rendering technical support, and eventually achieving the role of scene assembly & set dressing technical director on her final few releases there: Blue Sky's CG realization of the classic Dr. Seuss story: 'Horton Hears A Who', 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs', 'Rio'.
After a ten-year career in 2D & 3D animation, Melanie left the industry to pursue other interests.
