As President of Commonwealth Studios, John has been the driving force behind securing the foundational pieces and relationships necessary to bring a solid well formulated business plan together. His development of strategic alliances with government officials within the City of Simi Valley, State Senator Strickland and the Ventura County Board will be invaluable for the growth of the project through city annexation and re-zoning. Negotiating purchase agreements with Hirose Electric (USA) and Waste Management for the sale to Commonwealth of valuable land at below current market value has utilized his considerable skills in strategic planning. Concurrently, he has paved the way for operational banking with Montecito Bank and Trust and continues to develop potential long range financial affairs with John Thomas Financial in New York City in anticipation of a future IPO. His long term relationship with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), the biggest guild in Hollywood, has cemented their cooperation and support which normally takes years to develop.
As a prior audit specialist for Security Pacific Bank, John has a strong background in budgeting, as well as foreseeing and maintaining deadlines and cost projections. On the management side, John has already anticipated the future studio's operating needs and has developed a catalog of interested industry individuals to come aboard after the initial development stage is in progress.
As an independent Production Designer and Supervising Art Director for motion pictures and television for over 25 years, John oversaw all phases of bringing a film to life, from conception and storyboards, to budgets, production schedules, hiring and coordination with the director's visual concept prior to commencement of shooting. During these years he has worked with, and made friends with, many professionals that are now successful leaders in the industry enabling him to utilize these relationships for the benefit of Commonwealth Studios.
