Ronald Kelly(I)

Ron Kelly or ron [k], the latter being his artist pseudonym for which
he is more commonly known as a musician/audio engineer/producer and
composer. He took up drums at age 8, within a decade ron had also
taught himself guitar, synthesizers, vocals, as well as how to produce
and engineer his own recordings. In 2000 he established his
state-of-the-art multi-purpose audio production studio: The Missile
Silo. 2005 found him immersed in the world of post production as a
sound re-recording mixer, editor and sound designer. Having worked on
everything from film and television to video games and theatrical
trailers to managing the day-to-day operations of a major post
production sound house. It was in 2008 that he had begun finalizing the
last 3 years of redesigning his approach and direction to music, in
November 2008 Ron Kelly reemerged in the music world as ron [k].
The basic tenets of his new artistic identity moved beyond the restrictions of any single genre, heading for the mélange of styles (including rock, metal, classical, electronica and industrial) that characterizes his sonic output today, which blends grinding guitar lines with chaotic yet calculated drumming, fat bass lines, ethereal synth work, expressive male/female vocalizing and big orchestral arrangements. Lyrically, Ron's style is interpersonal; writing about life experiences of his own or of others around him, he does not feel the need to write social/political based lyrics or commentary as there are enough artists, bands and entertainers out there who use the outlet of music as their soap box for those beliefs.
